I was having the same problem.  It turned out to be something with my DSL gateway.  Despite the gateway being configured to use Google's public DNS, it's cache/proxy wasn't working (even after restarting it).  I ended up switching my computer to use Google DNS and I could log in.

Any solution for iPad user? :(

I've restarted the iPad and no joy

I am currently looking up how to clear my DNS cache, and idk about iPad users. :( maybe try to re-download the game.

For iOS our support portal recommends: http://support.pokemon.com/ics/support/KBAnswer.asp?questionID=2117

Quote

iOS:

Here is the simplest method in order to flush your DNS:

1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to reveal Control Center

2. Tap on the Airplane Icon to enable Airplane Mode – wait until the devices radio signals are off as indicated by the airplane logo in the status bar, then tap again on the Airplane Icon to disable Airplane Mode

3. Swipe down to leave Control Center, the DNS cache has been flushed successfully

Now, of course, if the network your iOS device is connecting to has a DNS cache that isn't respecting TTL (time to live) and has the old DNS entry that the game needs to be updated to communicate with to complete authentication, then well, flushing out your device's cache still won't do it.

Worth a shot though!

Both option did not work for me D:

But now it says: "Servers are currently offline. Please try again later"

Oh wait Aeroplane mode was still on. Whoops.

Same message as before and still can't login.

It's actually not a good suggestion because the issue is outside of the game itself.

** was something :P

But yeah... I give up. I'll come back later tonight and leave my iPad on Aeroplane mode for the rest of the day. Hopefully I can get back on by then.

well it is posted in the updated that it may take 5 minutes or as much as 72 hrs.... :(

I have tried everything numerous times to try get on and none work...I am on iMac . Hopefully this doesn't become a common thing now to as we already have enough bugs/glitches/god knows what else......kinda wish they would fix everything before adding more headaches to deal with....

And to be more clear, are you guys guaranteeing this will be resolved within 72 hrs?

OR ....

Can we prepare for more time off the game while a solution is found?

Very vague on what you guys did, was this a program error or was it a programmer error?

Is it more ISO users? or is it happening on all platforms?

I have both mac and windows and tried your solutions that were suppose to fix the error on both ......

Like I had mentioned in my ticket as well as on here, you guys seriously need to start looking at fixing the problems at hand before adding more and more because it seems it is getting worse and worse as you guys add more. 1 step forward, 3 steps back....not good business for a large company like Pokemon.

I have this problem too on my Windows 10 computer.  It was working during the Super Bowl but it's not working now.

Still nothing.... it says that it cannot reach the pokemon login server when you try to login.

But if you type your password wrong, this login server knows that you typed it in wrong....

Somethings fishy...

After some more investigation, it seems the DNS entry for www.pokemontcg.com is too large for a single UDP packet.  This may cause a problem the hardware many people have in their homes for connecting to the Internet that no amount of waiting will fix.  In my case, the *only* solution is to bypass my gateway's DNS proxy, which doesn't support TCP DNS lookup, and configure my computer to directly connect to a public DNS service.
