Testing new NM deck:

Asking for feedback on the usage of puzzle of times as a gen card and Mr. Mime for tech against bat/Trev decks. Didn't feel comfortable using 4 Puzzle of Time cards, due to them being dead cards early game, and or discarding to get better advantage board wise. 2 seem'd good to use even if only playing 1 to spec 3 cards to draw. Seems to fit for a NM deck.

Any feedback, or a counter deck-list that works better with Puzzle or Mime would be appreciated.

I tried Puzzle. . . it kind of works, but you need 4 and you need a consistent way to search out that second piece you need.  Using a single to make sure you top deck a sycamore or DCE is useful.  Overall a 2-1 or 2-2 Milotic line makes more sense and having the room to put both (allowing you to potentially evolve, rescue a puzzle of time and play it with a second one to get 2 cards from discard) which might offer you some broken effects once in a while is kind of not feasible.

Try Misty's Determination as a one of.  Psychic's Third Eye is pretty lacklustre but Bursting Balloon or Fighting Spirit Belt are both really awesome tools for NM.  FSB helps in the Bat matchup.

I think Mr. Mime works since it only takes up one space and if you're organized and attacking they've got bigger problems to worry about than sniping Mr. Mime or Lysandre and KO ing it when you've got an attacker ready to go.

Overall Puzzle if only a consistent play when you can search it out.   I use it in a Korrina deck, it works awesome.  It does broken things all the time.

i would add some basic energies tho. atleast 4 or so, this way you can use them against agislash ex

if you add basic energy, only about 2 and some way of getting them back is good.

My deck list is really close.  I gave up on Puzzle because I couldn't figure what I wanted to cut.

I think I have maybe 8 different cards, made up by an extra Battle Compressor, 2 Ultra Balls, one less tool, 3 basic energy. . . I dunno a bit different. . .  4 Trainer's Mail 4 Puzzle probably makes for a lot of chances to get two pieces together.  I honestly gave up on puzzle, but you could get them with teammates, or one piece and something else you need, then get 2 cards from discard.

You've got a bunch of tech cards I think I need to include, like Startling Megaphone. . .  right now the basic energy most often gets used to retreat, so having a Switch and Escape Rope seems like a good idea.

It seems like you've sacrificed a bit of speed and consistency to include 4 Puzzles, things like 2 more Ultra Balls for Shaymin and that 4th Battle Compressor.  I have to admit my own take on it is purely with my first turn in mind.  Does it  work?  I run 3 - 3 Trainer's Mail / Acro Bike, cutting Acro Bike as you have doesn't seem like that big a sacrifice.

Testing this deck for the past couple of days, still am able to turn 1 opponents easily enough, as far as puzzle goes, I have had nothing but great success so far!  At first, I was very weary on getting 1 early game, but realized using them casually to set up next draws if I couldn't 1 shot was a great way to spec fast for an easy turn 3.





Getting puzzles back with Milotic, or setting up energy retrieval once I've lost tempo has been great with puzzle! So I still find no need to run basic energies, although, I do find hard match-ups against decks that run Hammers, which I must admit in this meta has been somewhat rare lately..... If It Shifts though, I will need to change the deck list a bit to accommodate.

just be warned tho you may not always get the one turn tho.

I decided to run an Yveltal deck for my first standard and decided to cut a BC to include a team flare grunt since there's nothing to retrieve special energy....

Generally Night marchers hate it a lot when you discard their double colorless energy , just sayin ;)

Still running the exact deck-list, its been days now, and holding a steady 73% WR with it compared to my lower 60% WR with my Bronzog version. Seems a bit faster on tempo and has decent combo elements with puzzle to get a free switch/escape, or even just set up a low draw shaymin! Loving the potential with puzzle so far, still haven't been running into too many tech'd decks that discard energies, although that might change in a few days.... Either way, I have 3 ways of getting my DCE's back into my hand, that isn't to say that this synergy with the deck is great, but it sure does catch an opponent off guard!

 

It's defiantly a good deck to surprise with, and decent in a mirror match that's for sure!

a good item to have in this deck would be a ace spec computer search. its like a ultra ball but you can search ur deck for any item and at the same time discard nm poke that is needed to be added to dmg. i use it in my nm deck. idk about bee revenge tho. i would say it prob would be helpful to in that deck.

Xensor, this is a Standard deck, he's not allowed to use an Ace Spec xd
