if i have a card from an older expansion i can still use it? i i want a card from an older expansion i can still buy or win it somehow?

If the card you want to use has been reprinted in a new set, you can use the old versions in your decks. You can find out of your cards are legal are not by going into the deck manager, clicking "create new deck", and clicking the format you want to build a deck in. The deck manager will automatically display all legal cards for that format.

 

Guide to formats:

Unlimited = All cards are legal. Standard and expanded decks are legal to play in unlimited.

 

Expanded = Cards from Black & White onward are legal. Standard decks are legal to play in expanded.

 

Standard = Cards from XY-Kalos Starter Set onward are legal. Rotates every September to a new set.

 

Now for question 2...

 

Some old cards/Unobtainable Promos/Unobtainable coins are available in the Victor's bonus wheel.

 

As for the rest of the cards, they are harder to get, but obtainable.

 

HeartGold & SoulSilver = Unavailable in shop, unobtainable through codes.

If you are lucky, they could put it in the shop as a weekly special.

 

HS-Unleashed = see above

 

HS-Undaunted = see above

 

HS-Triumphant = see above

 

Call of Legends = see above

 

Black & White = Unavailable in shop, obtainable thru codes*, could be a special offer in future. *Only about 50% of Black & White packs contain codes, as the web beta was just beginning, and the codes were not created until print run 2.

 

BW-Emerging Powers = Unavailable in shop, obtainable thru codes. Could be a special offer in future.

 

BW-Noble Victories = Unavailable in shop, obtainable thru codes. Could be a special offer in future.

 

BW-Next Destinies = Unavailable in shop, obtainable thru codes. Could be a special offer in future.
