[GENERAL] Other - Unable to "Add a Child" on my Profile

When I sign in to www.pokemon.com - go to my profile - and click "Add a Child" - I get an error message:

 

"""

We're sorry; we are unable to verify your identity. If you feel you have received this message in error, please contact customer service. A representative will attempt to resolve the issue.
"""

 

I opened an issue on support.pokemon.com - Question #: 15182-320143

 

... but have not got a response after 4 days (I tried to update the issue a couple of days ago, and again just now)

 

I was hoping there was a simple process to verify my identity - I probably missed something when I setup my account way back when - something like confirming an email address or something? But I can't find any links or support information.

 

Is there anything more I can do to help resolve the issue?

Unfortunately, that's something we'll have to wait for the support team to look at, as it is an individual account issue. We greatly appreciate your patience if they have not gotten to your query yet! We're in the midst of a particularly busy patch, so they may take a bit longer than usual to respond. :)

I hate to resurrect an old thread but did you ever get this resolved? I'm having the same problem and wanted to create an account for my child before an upcoming event so that he can participate with my wife and I.

You don't have to create an Online identity for your child before an Event.  I'm sure, that might set your mind at ease, but all Tournament Organizers can assign your child a Player ID on the spot (printed card).  It's part of the process, and they have new players come to tournaments all the time.

Please reach out to the support team if you are having an issue with the verification process. You can create a support ticket by clicking the link in my signature, selecting the PTC option, and then selecting "Contact Us".  :)

 

Also, be sure to check out to the forum rules here regarding older threads. I will go ahead and lock down this thread since it is already a couple of years old.
