How can I win matches?

Super newb at pokemon TCG online. I am wondering how do I win matches? I created a fire red deck with the 60 necessary cards including base cards and evolutions. I keep loosing however, I have only one once or twice so far. Do you have any tips for someone who is just getting into the TGC online?

here's what I would do:

 

1. get dark hammer them deck

2. win theme tourneys, collect packs

3. trade packs for cards to make a top tier deck choose between standard and expanded.  these deck lists are online in various places which we can't mention here, but some deck lists are in the deck construction forum.

the top decks at most city championships are searchable online, and there is only so much we can say here without violating forum rules.

4. you can also buy tourney tickets on the pokemon website, you can also buy codes at various places online, if your a little impatient like a lot of us.

 

stay focused and build your favorite decks, learn the game and you'll do fine.

Also make sure you take all your prize cards before they do.............That is key.

You can also advance in the Trainer challenge, you will win packs and ultimately you will earn XY basic theme decks.

 

I have a preference for the basic blue theme deck but the green deck is also very good.

 

When I play theme tourneys to win tournament tickets I use exclusively Dark hammer and Basic Blue: winners' decks

dont do tournment unless u have nm deck or bee revenge. thats abut the only quickest way of winning

Or you know he could play what he wants to play. And if he is able to make a decent deck will probably do fine in tournaments even if its not "nm or bee revenge".

play theme vs theme deck no expanded or unlimited until you got some good cards and then create a deck(expanded or unlimited) it takes time to make a good deck.expanded or unlimited is not for us yet you dont even start and you want to win vs unlimited or expanded? :S also try to buy a deck with 500.

Quick Match is just for fun, and you don't play against a real person in it. You play against a computer. You don't get anything from doing Quick Match, so just ignore that feature.

 

You only play against real people in Versus and Tournament modes. In those modes, there are 4 formats of play. They are Theme, Standard, Expanded, and Unlimited. Theme decks are the pre-made ones you start with or buy from the in-game store. You should stick to Theme decks for now, as you need to collect a lot of cards and get experienced in the game before playing the other formats.

 

Trainer Challenge mode lets you use Theme decks and battle against a computer opponent. Beating Trainer Challenges will get you coins, booster packs, and new cards for the Basic decks.
