Question about Espeon-EX Killing Me

So I wasn't paying particularly close attention to a game as both me and my opponent got energy screwed, so he kept unevolving me each turn while I evolved back each turn.

I had no damage counters, and next thing I know Espeon-EX unevolved my active and benched Pokes, and I lost the game.

My opponent had something on the bench, but as I said I wasn't paying attention and didn't notice what it was before the consolation prize wheel popped up.

What happened? How did Espeon-EX kill me with it's de-evolving attack?

Yeah, on turn 4 or 5 with zero supporter or draw use (hence me having no energy to do anything).

 

No, it was specifically due it's attack that I died, and I'm wondering whether this was an atrocious bug or whether there's a combo that can kill via unevolving without damage counters involved.

Sounds like its an atrocious bug.

It sounds very similar to the reason Kricketune and Lilligant were temporarily banned, which is that ******* Pokemon which is affected by the effect of their moves would automatically count as a loss for both players.

 

Since those cards were suspended, Espeon would also get suspended if this problem happens randomly with him.

I have, as the Espeon user, lost the game after devolving someone. It's likely that it was a double loss for you as well. Which pokemon did you have active/benched?

i'd be too worried about maxie'd gallades right now.. they're on literally every good yveltal deck I've seen as of late, and they completely bypass the mechanic..

 

also, hex maniac is a very simple tech to completely shut down your strategy for a full turn, so do you happen to have an idea for a counter?

 

lastly, how do you plan to get archeops out? maxie? because i find maxie really underwhelming when used alongside a stage 1 line

how do you plan to deal with them.. a deck usually battles a variety of other decks and as a result, it's better to be prepared for them please do not bring your personal problem with me over here
