defenses against delinquint from breakpoint

what are your thoughts about this new card, requires to discard any stadium to force opponnent to choose 3 cards to discard. Of course one can use red card. i can see this helping out certain deck formats, like maxie, and archie, and nightmarch.

iVE SEen some defenses like using ninetailes, or gothitelle.

As long as you don't play any Stadium cards and you can power it up quick enough, Giratina-EX from Ancient Origins can be quite effective as its attack won't allow your opponent to play their Stadium cards.

Sadly Giratina-EX (AO) can be killed before even attacks regardless of heals.

Pokemon Card Makers seem to be making cards that based on Business not balance.

Even now that Max Potion has been reprinted with Aromatisse's Fairy Transfer and Double Dragon Energy?

This could help decks that use VS Seeker (basically every deck, just discard a supporter if there is one in your hand) and decks that use Blacksmith (you could discard some fire energy in your hand)

Maybe I am crazy, but I am not sure Delinquent is that great. Its situation based discard that requires you to effectively spend 2 cards to net three out of your opponent's hands, with no control as to what 3 they discard. I would be glad if my opponent has more than 1 of those in their deck. Especially if I am playing anything like Night March or Vespiquen or Maxie or Archie.

I honestly think cards like Judge are much better. But I may just be inexperienced.

Judge is a supporter, so not really useful. RED+delinquint seems to be the best way right now. or have  team rocket handy as well. trainer mail, acro bike, red bike, and item that draws can make things mor easier, forgot reciever.

... Delinquent is also a Supporter, ha know.

Edit:

Oh, I see. You're saying you can't use Judge + Delinquent because you can't use 2 supporters on the same turn.

But I think the other guy was just saying he prefers Judge in general over Delinquent.

Red Card + Delinquent is good because it gives your opponent ONE card only in their hand. And it doesn't affect your own hand like Judge does (which is an advantage for Judge if you want draw power.

But you still pick the cards that you are discarding. It may just help you thin out your deck, get rid of stuff you don't need, or even for supporters that have been mentioned above. And if you have a Sycamore/Shaymin, you're safe, and you may just got saved from a dead draw!

Yes, or you draw something like DCE, DCE, Ultra Ball and another card after the Red Card came and then go on from there when you are 'delinquented'. Yes this sounds a bit unrealistic but with the strange drawing this game provides I guess we see more situations where players run into this scenario (I only speak from the first turn, not later on when you even can lose the full hand when you have say just like 3 cards in your hand after one turn of playing cards and your opponent then plays Delinquent).

That card is so annoying if you go second and your opponent plays both the other two cards on the very first turn (I mean from 7 to 4 cards is already bad - but to a one card hand?) What can you even do on your first turn with nothing left than just one card which can be then a supporter if you are lucky after the red card gave you something. This card is really game breaking and not balanced as one of the previous comments already pointed out.

And just ask yourself? Are you building a deck before a game with say like just 57 cards? I doubt you want it and not all decks play energy discarding and using acceleration based decks around fire or metal.

True, but most of the time having a 1-card hand is bad. Even if you do get to choose which 1 card that is out of a choice of 4 random cards.

I think it'll be useful more often than not.

There needs to be a stadium in play to play Delinquent. So this makes it pretty corner case of a card. The best defense is to not play stadiums and force your opponent to play them and discard them.

So while the effect could be devastating it takes a lot for an opponent to make good use of it. They have to play enough stadiums to get a t1 stadium and they have to do a lot of poaturing just to make the card useful. Or they have to hope you run a lot of stadiums.

I wouldn't worry about facing a lot of people playing delinquent as I said above there are better cards to play.

Unless I am missing the sweet stadium/discard deck. Anyone who waters their deck down to play that card is going to suffer for it.

actually delinquent is a very very good card.. by bringing opp down to 1 card, you leave only 2 cards in his hand on that turn- this means even ultra-ball is taken out of the equation for draw power.. meaning the opponent is left with 8 or so draw supporters and 2-3 shaymins to draw with (total 10 cards out 60)

even if you run into a supporter before red card happens, you still aren't guaranteed to draw something useful with that supporter.. (your first turn card availability with juni goes down from 8+7 cards to 2+7 cards (which is a pretty big factor when we're considering that this is pretty much BEST SCENARIO in case of a successful delinquent)

delinquent coupled with shaymin red card and a simple attacker (like the old mewtwo-ex or the new yveltal-ex+ max elixir) could become a very terrifying combination to face

I added Delinquent to my Malamar Control deck.  It works very well.  Rough Seas, Fairy Garden, Fighting Stadium.  I've gotten rid of them and returned the delinquent to my hand which usually means the opponent doesn't even attempt another copy.

just got owned by a puzzle/delinquent deck.  he somehow managed to get the 2 time puzzle cards in his hand 3 turns in a row.  not sure that's the correct implementation of the card.

Forest of Giant Plants > Vileplume > Delinquent.

Red Card > Delinquent > Vanilluxe > Frigid Breath (Can't play supporters).

Red Card > Delinquent > LickyLicky which will leave the opponent with ZERO cards in hand.

I already have a LickyLicky deck that does pretty well by using the old Durant to discard the opponent down to 4 cards.

Yeah, Delinquent is broken...

"Yeah, Delinquent is broken..." Not exactly.

Interesting deck! I think its a creative idea. Not competitive or broken by any means, though.

Did you ever think of the possibility of a Mystical Fire / Abyssal Hand / Magnetic Draw? (this is assuming that the opponent even has one of these pokemon in play) The opponent will be able to get their hand to 5/6, making the combo kinda null.

Unless you play a card that cancels abilitys / Poke-POWERS. Adding a garbodor would make your deck too clunky, and Delinquent is a supporter, so you can't play Hex Maniac on the same turn.

a forest of giant plants vileplume deck using a first turn red card and then delinquent will be absolutely and completely broken!! no items (and very few cards in hand left means that they will be almost surely hard pressed to fight for their win)

Vileplume + Miltank was barely competitive and now you want to add even more situational cards into the deck ?

In an ideal scenario such a deck might work, but “completely broken” is def. not the term to describe it ;).

Actually, just play Ninetales PRC. You can get it out on T1 with Wally.

I just heard a pretty crazy idea.. escavalier-scizor-ex powered by forest of giant plants and shaymin-ex using delinquent and red card..

red card-> delinquent-> escavalier leaves your opponent with 0 cards left in deck.. from there, using scizor-ex, it's potentially gg

Gallade BKT.

Who cares if you're down to one card when you know you are going to top deck a sycamore?

Octillery BKT.

Who cares if you're down to NO cards, I get to draw 4 after I draw for turn.

Don't play your stadium.
