[GENERAL] Other - Is there a memory leak? I see rise in my apps memory usage

The memory leak problem this client has is very annoying, having to relog after a couple trades is ridiculous... The client opens up at <300 MB, and it keeps rising until the client is so laggy and slow that you need to relog. At present my client is sitting at 1279 MB and if I leave it be it will only increase, lucky I am on a desktop, those that are on smaller devices this would wreak havoc on their RAM.

Please fix this ridiculous memory leak, it's no fun to have to relog all day long just to get around it.

Please devs, fix the bugs before you add any new bugs and ridiculous changes that slow down the game play.

Thanks.

so this is probably why it is crashing on ipad within 10 minutes

That would be the cause indeed, many people complain of lag, and many play on small devices like the ipad.

Also my client is presently at 1600 MB, please fix devs. Get your code to release the memory, this is very poor coding.

I would recommend starting off by uninstalling and reinstalling the game, or running the Refresher.exe program located in your installation folder (usually found in "%appdata%\Pokémon Trading Card Game Online" ).

Hopefully that helps to fix the issue that you are describing.

The thing to know is that memory usage is, as I understand it, a current issue with the architecture of the trading system.  The system passes down lists of available trades.  This can be a lot of data, and account for the increase you are seeing in memory usage.  For devices with low available memory, this can be an issue, but it isn't a problem for devices that have a lot of memory available.

This issue is one on the development team's list to look further into.  However, if you're looking for a quick fix, you might investigate expanding memory on your device or a new play device, if possible.
