Whats the deal with all the 1 revers holo for 7 common trades

Over the past week or so I keep seeing a bunch of trades where someone is giving 1 reverse holo of a common card in exchange for 7 standard versions of the same common.

From my perspective, having 32 tradable commons does me no good so I gladly accept the trade. But why would anyone want more then 4 of any card. And the sheer number of trades like this... is there something special about the number 7 that I am not getting?

I can't speak to others, but I trade away my reverse holos for regular versions just to reduce the number of duplicate cards I have.   Usually a 1 for 1 trade.    It makes it faster for me to search my cards and build decks not having to scan past all the variants of trainer cards, eg: 13 different Junipers...

I would understand the opposite offer, i did that many times offering 4 of the card for 1 rev of it, but this is just weird :), or maybe they do this and then trade 3-4 for the rev, so they'll get more rev cards :P

part of the reason is for profit. most of the time rev foil versions of a card are worth similar to the normal version. so if someone is trading 1 rev foil for 7 non-foil, they can then go and trade each of those 7 for the same price as the 1 rev foil they had.

and the reason why anyone wants more than 4 of each card is they can resell them for profit or for other cards they need.
