My Thoughts On the Latest 2.33 Statement

An open letter to the Developers of this application.

I'm sure you've realized that some people are angry at the last update you've rolled out. And you've probably gotten more feedback than you know what to do with. You're preparing the next update and I'm sure you'd like that to go over without the same uproar that you received this month, especially so close to Christmas time.

So here's the #1 thing you need to do:

Make the game quick again.

That should be your primary goal. That is what has turned so many people, like myself, away. I have not played since my first games after the release. I don't have huge blocks of time to carve out for games. And I resent the fact that the extra time I'm spending is due to something that is a needless part of the game (animations, drag/drop, etc.)

We don't like the fact that games are taking longer -- for what we see as a frivolous change. As someone who works in the IT field, I know that hiding functionality that used to exist doesn't work. Once something is exposed, users won't tolerate not having that option. You can't unring that bell; people don't forget that what they perceive to be an improvement used to exist. This is bad customer service, because they know you could fix the game, but don't want to. Even the best reasoning doesn't overcome this.

So do that one thing above, and I think you'll have half of the disgruntled people off your back. Yes people will still be upset at the other changes that were missed, which are too many to name here. But if you're smart, you'll get some people that play the game at lightning speed, and have them test it out. Time them in games played with versions 2.31, 2.32, and 2.33. If the time to play 2.33 isn't close to 2.31 you're still going to have the same high number of angry customers. It's that simple.

Good luck!

They did say they intend to make it "snappier".  Personally, I would prefer the ability to turn the animations on and off as I desire, not a default of the game...  Isn't the game really for us anyway??? Shouldn't we have something to say in whether or not we want the animations on or off?  If they let us turn them off, then you can expect over 90% of your fan/player base to be satisfied with just about anything else you do with the next update...

Also the drag-and-drop... It's so bad.

Hi MarquisEXB,

Thanks for your thoughtful post! One of the highest priorities for the Dev team right now is making gameplay faster, as noted in that update from TPCi_Mathis. We appreciate your patience while that's being worked on and thank you for your input! It's been submitted to the Dev team for consideration.

We read that they will make things snappier.. But does not necessarily mean that the game will be faster....  We are wanting the option BACK to turn off animations, not make them more "snappier"... PLEASE!!!!
