[Card name] vs. [Card name] EX

Hi guys,

 

I was reading the rules and noticed that you can only have 4 repeats in any deck as defined by the cards name, so am wondering if EX cards are considered a different card for the purposes of the 4-card repeat rule.

 

I have already redeemed an online code for one themed deck.if I buy another and redeem the new code for the new theme deck, does this mean I will have all those cards again for the purposes of my collection/deck building?

You can only have 4 cards with the same name in your deck.

 

So for example Rayquaza EX from Roaring Skies has three different versions (Dragon Type, Normal Type and Normal Type Promo), however you cna only run a maximum of 4 in any combination of those cards (i.e. 2 Dragon, 2 Normal, 0 Promo, or 0 Dragon, 1 Normal, 3 Promo..... you get the idea.

 

You can however play 4 non-EX Rayquaza as well in your deck without a problem.

 

 

Yes, you can own multiple versions of the same theme deck in order to obtain more cards for your collection .
