[PC] Other - General lag experienced during matches

Whenever I'm playing a game, I will play a card, or attack, or some other action, then there is always a long delay (between 5 and 10 seconds) before the game will let me do anything else. It happens between every action I do and it makes games take 5 times longer. Restarting the game fixes this for about 5 minutes before it starts happening again.

It could either mean your internet isn't the best or PTCGO is having connection problems, I would close any other programs while playing PTCGO to fix this. Good luck!

My internet is absolutely fine. It works perfectly whenever I play any other online games or stream video in 1080p. I only have problems with this game. I thought that it might be PTCGO having connection problems but it's been happening for a while now.

Hello Nytheris!

We're not seeing any similar lag reports from around the time you posted this, so I'm not sure that it was a server issue. Let us know if you're continuing to experience this or if it was a temporary issue.

If you're still experiencing this, we recommend checking your connection for stability, closing any unnecessary background programs that could be interfering with your connection and running an antivirus/malware scan.

Additionally, I'd suggest checking your port situation. There are three ports that must be opened for the game to work: 8181, 5222 and 39389. 39389 is the "gateway" port that the client connects to momentarily to get information on which connection servers are available and their IP addresses. 8181 is the port that the client makes a dedicated connection to in order to play the game. 5222 is the port that connects to the chat server. If you're unsure of how to open or check these, you can use your preferred search engine to search for "(name of router/modem) port forwarding".

And finally, disabling some of the card and attack animations may help things run more smoothly in your matches. :) You can disable these via the Options panel (the button with the two gears symbol). From there, click the Settings button.

Thanks for your patience, and I hope this was helpful!
