Who Is The Best?--Competition Idea

Once I played the new revamped versus mode in the Pokemon Trading Card Game Online (PTCGO), I thought of an idea that would show off a players success. Since there is room on the main page, I thought of the following idea. On the left side of the main page screen, there could be a list showing top players of the day/week. The places on the list would be decided by how many versus points one has.

Of course, now that the pros have been stated, cons must come next. The list would have to be able to be updated someway in order to keep the information current. How frequently it would be updated could depend on the setting of how top players are averaged within an hour, day, or week. The second con, however, is slightly more difficult. I would assume, if something like this was done, this games server would need some tweaking (be it major or minor).

To sum up, a Top Player List would bring out and promote even more competition amongst the players of the PTCGO (as well as promote the new versus point system). The fabulous developement team would have a bit of work on their hands, if this idea was used. Overall, this is just a friendly competition idea I thought would make the game even more fun. I like this idea. I think that maybe instead of on the main screen it could have its own screen. There would just have to be the creation of a new tab. I do like to check the leaderboard but I don't like to have to go to the website. It would be much easier to just have this also located in the game. The leaderboard would just load when the button is clicked and so there would be no need to refresh it or have it do that on its own as it would just load up when it is visited.

Do not put the leaderboard in with the client. It is fine where it is on the Pokemon website. The last thing the PTCGO client needs is something that causes freezes and glitches, especially when that something has nothing to do with actual gameplay.

That's a good idea. However, I had that there are many players of the PTCGO in mind when I thought of the refreshing ability. Due to the many players, I imagined to keep it current, the board would need the ability to update. Though, technically, if a new tab were created for this, the player could click that tab button to refresh. If the board loaded once the tab was clicked, it would just reload if the tab was clicked a second time (basically the same as refreshing).
