Tournaments infested with Night March decks...

I'm wasting my time and tickets for playing against and losing to night march and shedninja as an opponent every time, first round.  If it is like this I'm not even going to invest any time in tournaments.  It seems the more the reward is, the lower the person will go to get to that reward.  I've foreseen this.  Kids see what wins, and uses it to the extreme if they can get their hands on the cards.  After that, others mimic and mirror said winning deck, and so on.

As annoying (and cheap) as it is, Night March decks are a legitimate way to win a game. The best thing you can do is to ensure that you strike swiftly and disable your opponent by using Hammers and Grunts.

It's unfortunate that the most effective way of disabling those decks is now banned for Standard and Expanded play.

They "see what wins, and use it" sounds like a good strategy to me. Night March is a legitimate top tier deck, as Maskull said, find a way to counter it. Aegislash ability, baby Yveltal single energy 1 shot Joltik/Pumpkaboo and it only gives 1 prize, Ninetails can lock out Dimension Valley, among other possible counters. As good as it is, not 1 made top 8 at a recent Nationals, it is certainly beatable.

And Shedinja Mew is a different deck that sees no competitive play.

If you need help with more counters I'd be glad to help :)

Let's be fair. Night march is a cheap viable deck. If people had the funding they would probably stream seismitoad laserbank like it's going out of style because it is next rotation. That said, there are plenty of FAR MORE annoying decks to play against, and I rather play against a night march deck, than a Streamed Toadlock deck or a landobat deck, or even a donphan deck for that matter. The meta is the meta, and you just have to deal with it like everyone else. The only reason night march might be more popular than the prior mentioned decks (aside from donphan) is because it is usually cheaper to make by quite a bit. If you have a problem with night march, try running some counter cards. If everyone plays the same deck, then it makes countering it all the much easier.

At least Night March is fast you where you lose immediately or win immediately. Do you really want to see tournaments infested with Seismatoad-ex/Shaymin-ex/Garbodor decks which win by boring the opponent to death?

The real problem with tournaments is that they are potluck. Sometimes you play a bunch of bad players sometimes you play tier 1 meta, sometimes you play rogue meta. You have to pick the right deck and get lucky. There's really no other strategy when everything is single elimination and sideboards don't exist.
