Hey guys! Im a new player, farmed the trainer challenges, and pretty bored of that. Won the standard tournament a few times with the panda deck. I tried the expanded tournament with the cards i found in my collection, but got rekt both times.. guys took out like 5 ex pokemon, evolved one of them to ex - M (what is that even, omg?!?), and oneshot me before i could even have a chance at my first turn... But i would really enjoy to get some tradeable booster cards, so can you help me in telling me of a good deck that is cheap-ish, but able to get 1/3 wins.

Also, if you can, tell me HOW to acquire stuff. That guy writing about the night march deck, its all french to me.. i cant find that deck in the shop, and getting each card seperately is something i have no idea about...

Please help ! tnx :)

Ok so lets start with how you acquire specific cards:

1. Purchase the 5 card packs from the Shop via Tokens (doesn't guarantee you'll get what you want)

2. Purchase IRL pack codes or IRL packs and use the codes from inside the packs (these packs can either be opened on PTCGO in hopes you pull the cards you want or you can use them as trades to trade for the cards you want on Public or Privet Trade on ptcgo)

3. Use Tradeable packs to purchase specific cards from various Trading Companies on the In-Game Item Exchange forum on this site.....they are pretty reliable at giving you fair values of cards and making the trades within a timely manner.....this is the best way to get exactly what you are looking for

EX-M as you referred to it as, is Mega Evolution of an EX Pokemon that has a Mega Evolution.  The Mega Evolutions bring 200+HP and usually some really good attacks.  Also they have a Mega Evolution rule that states your turn ends when you Mega Evolve however, this rule can be ignored by cards called Spirit Links that correspond to the EX that is named in the cards text and title.

As for cheap Expanded format decks:

  • Night March is really cheap....the most expensive card in the deck is the Ace-Spec and Shaymin-Ex but the deck can function without Shaymin-EX
  • Fluffychomp also known as Garchomp/Altaria is a non-EX based deck that does really well in Expanded
  • Rayeels, a very powerful Expanded deck....at little more expensive than the others due to the EX's used but its very reasonable

I'm sure there are others that are cheap and work but these 3 are the most common cheap decks.

Hope this all helps

Well, linnell, you may forgot about zoroark sky field, which i think is the best deck in expanded format. The only ex in the deck is darkrai which is extremely cheap. And zoroark brutal bash can hit hard with 9 dark pokemon on field.

yes i forgot that, might as well include Sky Field Raichu as well....both cheap decks to build....something like 10 packs or less to build it from scratch
