Players who participate in upcoming “Gym Leader Battles” at Japan’s Pokemon Leagues will be able to win the Wailord sleeves. Pokémon TCG Format Rotation for 2016

_________________________________________________

In the interest of maintaining a healthy tournament environment, Pokémon Organized Play begins each new tournament season by removing older expansions from Standard format competition. Each annual rotation challenges existing players to create new strategies while enabling new players to get involved in Play! Pokémon events with minimal investment.

The 2016 Play! Pokémon season starts on July 13, 2015, so players can start on earning their way toward the 2016 Pokémon World Championships. However, the format rotation will not occur until September 1, 2015. Importantly, this means that the 2015 Pokémon World Championships will use the 2015 format and rules as currently listed, rather than using the new Standard format for 2016.

Also, please note that Lysandre’s Trump Card (XY—Phantom Forces, 99/119 and 118/119) will continue to be banned for the 2016 Play! Pokémon season.

The Standard format for the 2016 season will consist of the following expansions:

  • XY—Kalos Starter Set

  • XY — XY

  • XY—Flashfire

  • XY—Furious Fists

  • XY—Phantom Forces

  • XY—Primal Clash

  • Double Crisis

  • XY—Roaring Skies

  • XY—Ancient Origins

  • McDonald’s Collection 2014

  • XY: Trainer Kit

  • Black Star Promo Cards: XY01 and higher

Additional expansions become legal three weeks after they are released in the United States.

The Expanded Format for 2016

In 2016 we will not be removing older expansions from the Expanded format. Players should double-check what format is being used before deciding which deck to bring to their local events.

The Expanded format for the 2016 season will consist of the following expansions:

  • Black & White

  • Black & White—Emerging Powers

  • Black & White—Noble Victories

  • Black & White—Next Destinies

  • Black & White—Dark Explorers

  • Black & White—Dragon Vault

  • Black & White—Dragons Exalted

  • Black & White—Boundaries Crossed

  • Black & White—Plasma Storm

  • Black & White—Plasma Freeze

  • Black & White—Plasma Blast

  • Black & White—Legendary Treasures

  • BW: Trainer Kit

  • XY—Kalos Starter Set

  • XY—XY

  • XY—Flashfire

  • XY—Furious Fists

  • XY—Phantom Forces

  • XY—Primal Clash

  • Double Crisis

  • XY—Roaring Skies

  • XY—Ancient Origins

  • McDonald’s Collection 2011

  • McDonald’s Collection 2012

  • McDonald’s Collection 2014

  • XY: Trainer Kit

  • Black Star Promo Cards: BW01 and higher, XY01 and higher.

Additional expansions become legal three weeks after they are released in the United States.

Well i need to confirm that Card no - 95/98 from Ancient Origins will be full art steven . Currently this is what bulba says so me also confirm it .This card Regular print was released in the Roaring Skies expansion, originating from the M Rayquaza-EX Mega Battle Deck in Japan, while the Full Art print will be released in the Ancient Origins expansion, originating as one of the XY-P Promotional cards. The promotional print was available to customers who purchased 2 booster boxes of Emerald Break starting March 14, 2015 at participating stores in Japan.

  • I have again posted the set lists  if in case someone wants to take a look at it .

  • Currently all cards from legendary shine collection and Ancient Origins are revealed so none of them is left . FYI' all cards from togekiss vs emboar deck have been revealed but me need yet to know the exact amount of energies in this deck after that me will post togekiss vs emboar deck list :) .

  • This is regarding rarity . Rarity of japanese and english cards vary and i am not good in understanding japanese cards rarities so many of the card rarities will appear as N/A so if anyone can help me in understanding japanese rarities then a lot thanks to all those :).

Ancient Origins Update.

Unless it was posted and I missed it, there was 1 card that wasn't reviled on the list of Origins cards and its an item card:

Energy Recycler

Trainer/Item

Shuffle 5 basic energy from your discard pile into your deck.

May or may not be a useful card.....only time will tell

Coming Soon :- America’s XY8 Set: ‘Break Through,’ Collector’s Chest Tin

_________________________________________________

Break Through is the name of America’s next XY set and will be released in stores on November 4th! No set description has been revealed yet, but the set will obviously be our equivalent of Japan’s Blue Impact / Red Flash, which will introduce “Break Evolutions.” The Japanese set comes out September 25th, a little over a month earlier.

Accompanying the set two weeks later on November 18th is a new Break Through Collector’s Chest Tin akin to the Hoenn Chest Tin. Each tin will come with five booster packs, three holo cards featuring Hoopa, Pikachu and Chespin, a coin, two sticker sheets, a mini album, a notepad, four pencils, and a TCGO code card.

Blister packs, theme decks, etc. will also be released with the set. They have yet to be revealed.
