Hi GM / technical support,

I keep getting disconnected despite my good connectivity (still being able to surf online for other materials). Please fix this as the experience is very unpleasant. There are times when I could have won the game and got a better reward but the game just disconnected me.

The gaming experience has been very unpleasant with this kind of gameplay and server connnection. Please resolve this.

Thank you.

Hey there ,

I recommend you to install latest java and windows update to enjoy PTCGO without getting disconnected . You have to download all updates and then install them and after that you have to restart your computer for the updates to take effect. This same problem was also faced by me and the above solution was given my mod snow.

Hi wongjunlin!

Did Aniketdianafury's suggestion help you at all? Additionally, I'd recommend checking your internet connection for stability, closing any background programs or apps that could be interfering with your connection, and running an antivirus/malware scan.

Thanks for your patience! :)

I have the same problem, it's definitely not a connectivity issue. will try reinstalling and see if it helps.

It would be nice if the devs wrote an uninstaller to remove PTCGO files completely though.

Hey there,

I agree with mod_poplar , you should have good and stable internet connection for PTCGO to work smoothly without getting disconnected .

  • 2 weeks later...

It's impossible for it to be a connectivity issue when I'm connected to 100Mbps Ethernet. I can torrent while playing a network intensive game like [Content removed - please keep all discussion on the topic of Pokémon. -Mod. Poplar] at 60 fps and 9 ping, yet PTCGO drops my connection consistently. It's definitely not on an issue on my end. If the PTCGO servers aren't congested, then likely somewhere along the way my packets are being dropped. Is there an IP I can pingtest against?

EDIT: Because apparently a common phrase for connecting wiring is censored...

Hi Starkipraggy,

It's possible that improving game performance could help!

Here are some suggestions for that:

  • Ensure that you have the newest video and audio drivers for your system, downloaded from the manufacturer's website.
  • Try lowering your desktop resolution to 1024x768.
  • Once in the game, go to your Settings and change performance to "Fastest" and uncheck the special effect boxes, lower your game resolution to 1024x768.
  • Try switching the game to windowed mode from the in-game Settings.
  • Run a virus / malware scan. From your Windows system accessories run Disk Defragmenter.
  • Before running TCGO, close any unnecessary background programs (web browsers, word processor, etc.).

If that doesn't help at all, I would recommend contacting the support team for further assistance. You can create a support ticket by clicking the link in my signature, signing in, and clicking "Ask a Question". In order to move things along, you can mention everything you've brought up here as well as any solutions you've already tried.

Thanks for your patience!
