Teching against popular decks

Ok, so I have a fairy-type deck (i.e. M.Gardevoir deck), however, I have recently found out that my matchup against some popular decks were bad. I put in a weakness policy to tech against Metal-types, a silver mirror to tech against team plasma pokemon, a silent lab to tech against Virizion/Genesect (further improved by the fact that none of my pokemon use abilities anyway), but I still can't find a decent option to tech against toad and dark type decks. I haven't tested against toad yet, but I have found out that Yveltal-EX really wrecks havoc against my deck. Help anyone?

Run your own toad and 4 hammers.

I think she was asking improvement in her Fairy Deck !! Well for Yveltal EX, use Dedenne.

This sentence made me curious, as I don't know if you are just talking about your Basics, or your entire lineup ( which would imply that you don't run Aromatisse.

It would be nice if you could post your entire list, as it is always easier to work this way :D.

Yes, I do run Aromatisse. However, Silent lab states only basic Pokemon have their abilities removed. Oh, and as for my list:

Pokemon (13):

2 Xerneas XY
2 Gardevoir EX

2 M. Gardevoir EX

2 Spritzee

2 Aromatisse

1 Swirlix

1 Slurpuff (XY)

1 Dedenne FuF

Trainers (35):

1 Hypnotoxic Laser

3 Ultra Ball

2 Red Card

1 Startling Megaphone

1 Professor's Letter (It is searchable by Skyla in case of emergency, but 1 is enough)

1 Xerosic

1 Teammates

4 Juniper

4 N

1 Skyla

1 Lysandre

4 Fairy Garden

1 Silent Lab

1 Shrine of Memories

1 ACE SPEC life dew (I don't have CPU search, and it saves my spare Xerneas)

3 Muscle Band

1 Float Stone

1 Weakness Policy

2 Gardevoir Spirit Link

Energy (12):

3 Wonder Energy

9 Fairy Energy

You are playing a couple of odd choices, like Red Card, instead of archetype staples like Max Potion, which seems strange to me.

As for your weakness against metal I'd try out Wing Attack Charizard EX instead of Weakness Policy, as he can almost OHKO any metal/grass Pokemon with Muscle Band, giving you a good tech against both Brozong, as well as Virizion.

Dedenne is a solid choice against Yveltal, especially since you have the inbuild Darkness Resistance, which forces them to overload on energy.

Pow. never thought of that.

I've always loved Charizard for the outrageous damage output and the all or nothing-ness of committing all your energy and resources into one gigantor unstoppable attacker that I have completely overlooked that one: 3 colourless, 60 damage fire type.

That's super easy to put into a fairy deck: search him out, charge him up with fairy transfer.

That is actually, technically the better one. Sure, it doesn't get charged up as fast, but it OHKOs faster.

maybe another option is Victini EX with Victory Piece. It can energy accelerate and attack when needed.

Victini EX is a little fragile and if it's not necessary for any matchup (Example, Seismitoad used it to improve the V/G matchup) and I don't think that Victini can do anything that Blacksmith can already.

my usual counter against yveltal-ex (or rather, any EX) is suicune/sigilyph with safeguard ability which nullify their attacks. Otherwise Raichu works fine too due to weakness (circle circuit with full bench)

if you want to stick to full fairy deck I would suggest flogres-ex in lieu of swirlix as it is a more solid pokemon with decent hp and attack (120 dmg with full bench). I do have some success with my fairy deck against yveltal-ex, but i rely mostly on M-gardevoir and Xerneas.

Let me know if you'd like my decklist

I'd go with Dedenne for Yveltal. It has the Pokèmon search that's really useful, as well as the weakness. It OHKOS with a Muscle Band and 4 energy, so get then in a position where they need 4 energy and then use Dedenne for an OHKO.

Ya I was thinking add in the toad to the deck.

But aren't Hammers/ Ringer/ Laser Lock enough? You really don't want to break Item lock unless you really have to.

Sorry, not to bring up something that's a few posts old, but what do you think about Victini EX in Primal Groudon, only one copy, I have.  Unfortunately I don't want to give up my scramble switch to bring Victory Piece and I'm not really willing to give up more than 2 spaces for a anti-grass pokemon with possible energy acceleration.  Probably a very bad tradeoff, you think?
