Virus While Updating?!

I was running the refresher and it downloaded malicious content on my computer and I repaired it, then it won't let me play TCG anymore. Help please??!!!

We ran into this in the office with our network virus protection. One of the update bundles looked like a virus, but the file that was tripping it was a zip file full of binary diffs for applying the patch and clearly not. When we scanned the individual files, we didn't return anything. Most likely the virus scanner was being a bit over zealous and matching some portion of a binary diff file.

One way we got around it was to uninstall and reinstall, in that there were not diff files to download to patch up. Maybe that will work for you. Short of that, you might look at what file was tripping the virus protection and whitelist it. I would consult with your network admin, if that is appropriate.

I uninstalled TCG and now it's telling me I have to have access to the appdata file PokemonTCG.exe which is not there. Can someone help me further?

It sounds like you didn't remove the old shortcut and are trying to use it, when that old game install isn't there. Did you re-install using the newest installer from Pokemon.com/playtcgo ?
