Too many EX Cards.

There needs to be a PvP mode to unallow EX cards at the very least.

The reason is that is all EVERYBODY uses.

It takes the fun out of the game, it makes the game completely unbalanced for newcomers and is just plain cheap.

There needs to be a PvP mode to unallow EX cards, or a quantity cap for decks at the very least.

All i can say to this is, here... we... go... again... - to put it another way, this has been covered more times than certain songs, all I can see is sarcastic remarks and arguments starting, just saying :)

If u cant beat em join em? Seriously though like Flub allready stated this is is starting to look like a bad cover of a boyband.

Ex's are there, deal with it, with some creativity you can build many decks with Ex or non Ex), that can KO Ex decks. Its part of the META and no single Ex is strong enough to not be able to be KO-ed.

"Takes the fun out of the game..."; I'm pretty sure many many people will disagree with this. "Makes it unbalanced for newcomers.."; well, yeah, I agree, but newcomers usually cannot directly jump into competitive play anyway. "it's just plain cheap.."; well, it's anything but cheap.

You see, if you're having trouble with EXs when you start out, and you still want to play ranked games (I believe you could build your collection faster using trainer challenge, if you're just starting out or by redeeming cards) either get yourself some EXs or get yourself some Pokemon that counter EXs (Sigilyph, Suicune and Bouffalant scare EX users like anything). Saying EXs are unbalanced won't get you anywhere. People are not going to stop using them because they are strong, but they also have crippling weaknesses (losing two prizes is a BIG deal, making a majority of the EXs unusable). So try to adjust to the metagame. It may take a while.

Also, I don't get why you would want a PvP mode without EXs. If winning matters to you, play in novice. Most people there won't use EXs. If winning tokens matters to you, play in ranked. You get tokens even if you lose. See, it's not too difficult to adjust your attitude towards things if you know what is going on in the metagame. And if you're not "with" the metagame, there's no "fun" left to be taken out by there being EXs, as you claim they do.

Yeah there are a lot of EX cards that are really strong, but there are some really good non ex decks. My new favourite is the tooldrop deck. It contains cards that worth around 10-15 packs(all cards!!) AND IT WON A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP :D check topcut's video out on ******* about state championship winners you can find this deck in the video.

Hello lpcrierie,

I've merged all of your threads to keep the discussion in one place. We pay close attention to the Feedback & Suggestions forum, so there is no need to post the same point more than once in different threads. :)

While the Dev team is currently uninterested in segmenting the player base further by adding more play modes, I'll send this up for review (perhaps for the future). I'll be leaving your thread open for discussion as well.

As always, we appreciate your input!

There needs to be a PvP mode to unallow (insert card category here) cards at the very least

The reason is that is all EVERYBODY uses.

It takes the fun out of the game, it makes the game completely unbalanced for newcomers and is just plain cheap.

possible card categories to insert:

1) card used by almost everybody

2) card makes it unbalanced for newcomers

3) card is plain cheap

card categories supporting said criteria:

a) stadiums excluding those from starter decks (virbank, skyarrow)

B) special energy excluding dce (blend, prism rainbow)

c) playset of common supporters (i.e. 4xjuniper/sycamore, 4xn, 4xskyla, 4xcolress)

d) common items (dark patch, hammers, colress machine, hypnotoxic laser etc)

e) common pokemon (sableye, blastoise)

EX pokemon technically doesnt't fit in here since it doesn't fulfill criteria 3 of being cheap. but jokes aside, it is a common newbie misconception that exs are overpowered. oftentimes it tends to be the cards mentioned above that make a deck great, playing a deck with only exs but wthout cards above would never beat the deck with the cards above but no ex) it is the main reason why the ratio for ecks now have become so focused on trainers, because that's whre its real power lies and this is evident from when we see the difficulty a deck faces when item/supporter locks are in place, it is a far more frustrating situation than having to face exs[/color]

Absolutely agree. There needs to be a way to balance the "trainer trickery" it feels like the focus of a deck is no longer Pokemon but items and supporters. This is not only a flavour issue, being trampled by a first turn triple dark patch on an E X Pokemon after a series of item tricks is definitely not fun at all and Pokemon TCG, which I love for its deeply strategic side, loses its main appeal when such a situation becomes usual.
