Keldeo EX & Xerneas EX - broken interaction?

Was playing and opponent had both of these pokemon out. He used the X-blast attack which states you can not use it next turn. By using rush in and then retreating he was able to use this attack every turn.....

It's meant to work that way. That's the whole strategy of that deck. Being placed on the bench removes all effects of attacks on that Pokemon, including your own.

works for various other pokemon such as plasma kyurem's blizzad burn and aegislash's king's shield, don't be surprised to see that combo
