UPDATE! Pokemon catchers - NO MORE FLIPS!!

The card was written that way original and so needs to stay that way. The errant, adding a coin flip,is in effect even if the text does not match. So requiring coin flip and the text not saying there is coin flip is not a bug.

However with this errant, if the company prints new catchers with the coin flip mentioned in the text, it should be modified in the tcgo to match the new text.

now with the incoming Flashfire TCG set(after XY) you'll find a surprise....

The Supporter Lysandre is a guaranteed Catcher

Making Catcher a suppport is much better for balancing reasons. Although I still think alot of players will still use the flip-coin one because it's not a support (combine with Victini). This is going to a interesting choice for future decks. I'm looking forward to this!

oooh, sorry to disappoint you. Fliptini doesn't work with Trainer cards, only with attacks from Pokémon

Yeah freespirit87 I love the Lapras from the basic blue theme deck because it has Water Arrow. Too bad I had to remove it from my Grace of the Lotus deck to add more trainers :(

Making the flipless catcher a supporter was a good idea (and I generally dislike Catcher on principle). When it was first introduced, Pokemon Catcher was broken beyond all belief, as you could use as many items as you want during your turn. That means that if your active pokemon is protected from damage from attacks due to an effect, all your opponent had to do was use one Catcher to bring up one of your bench (which removes that effect), then use a second to bring back your original active, then they can hurt it with impunity. Adding the coin flip requirement powered it down and made it much more fair.

While Lindsaire's emulating the original Catcher makes it way too powerful, the fact that it's a supporter makes it not quite as broken as said Catcher due to the rule of only one Supporter per turn. Of course, there would still be a way to force that double switch. i.e. you could use an Escape Rope (or Swellow's ability) to have you opponent choose a benched pokemon to switch with their active, then use Lindsaire to bring that active back.

Hello trainers,

I'll be closing this thread. Thanks for your understanding!
