Constantly downloading the same patch?

Up till today the tgc has worked (sort of) for me since the last update. (I had a few issues with the initial loading screen but after uninstalling and re-installing it worked... kind of. It glitched a few times before when it wouldn't show me my cards that I drew mid battle [usually after defeating the opponents pokemon] and would freeze but not be frozen as I could still select certain cards though I would usually have to concede the game). Though now for some reason whenever I go to open the game, it redownloads the last patch. Then when I click play, it opens the full screen for maybe 5 seconds as it loads to find new updates and patches and then updates the exact same patch over and over again. I've tried restarting my laptop and it's a pain to have to install the game again after I just re-installed it.

 

Is there anything that I can do?

Absolumi, I would suggest running the Refresher.exe program (it is in the same folder as the pokemon trading card game online.exe)

 

Perhaps running that file manually might fix this issue.

I just tried it and it still isn't working. I'm thinking of re-installing the game to see if that will make any difference for now.

This are the things that I have done...

Opened the refresher.exe from the program files (No good)

Removed the refresher.exe so that it doesn't update cause I already updated it (No good)

Reinstall PTCG (No good)

I think I have fixed the issue (for now at least -_-). What I did was install the program onto my desktop instead of placing it into my program files. After installation I deleted the game's shortcut and then opened the original game file from the PTCGO folder. It ran the patcher once and then loaded the game like normal.

 

I'm not sure why having it on my desktop instead of program files fixed it, but it's worth a shot. Good luck guys. :)

If running the refresher program does not resolve the issue, then I would suggest that you send a ticket into the support team so they can investigate this matter further. To submit a ticket, simply click the link in my signature, sign in, and click "Ask a Question".

Just adding that this is also happening to me, figured if it's happening to enough people it will become a priority fix, Ill try playing again next week.
