needs to be a deck rater... lost a new player, leaving feedback

and yes, i'm mad, bro... god, i can't wait for that stupid meme to die.

look, i don't know what all of you long timers are scared of, but i see that there are a few new players. i played about ten matches online in novice today. you all remember what that means, right? you've completed all the trainer challenges, but haven't REALLY got a handle on the game yet. you're looking to be matched up against similar players. not for a reward, just to get a better handle on the game with similar players.

what i got were fully fleshed out decks that could get to stage two on their second round. have two ex's out at all times search the deck for whatever they want, etc... cards i don't even have access to.

i don't know what all of you are so scared of that you don't play expert with your expert decks and let the new players have a place where they can go to get a better handle on the game. but regardless of your need to feel superior by playing against new players and pushing them away from your game, thereby killing it... it could all be fixed if they would rate decks and match you similarly.

can't tell you how frustrating it is as a new player to play in the new player playlist, against an opponent you should have the counter deck for, just to be destroyed because they pulled out a card in the second round that can one shot all your cards anyways... nice.

so again, i'm gone. that's why. i've left you the fix. hope i wasn't too grating on my way out the door.

good day.

You're frustration is understandable, you did choose a bad time to start playing the game. Right now there is a glitch that makes a player unable to find games from time to time. It gets stuck at "Searching for available games" and doesn't move on to "Searching for available opponents.

Switching formats from Modified to Unlimited usually doesn't solve this problem. The most comfortable way to get around this problem is simply to change the difficulty level which almost always works. Therefore you will see a lot more expert level players in novice now than in the past.

I really hope this issue gets fixed soon.

Dave I can totally understand your frustration, but I think you need to understand that a lot of the times the people you meet in Novice who you claim to be "experts" might actually be in your exactsame situation when they enter expert matches. They seem very hard to you because they've played longer than you but they are still nowhere ready for expert and therefore they play in novice. I don't deny that you will meet some decks that are meant for expert but show up in novice, but in my experience those are few are far in between. A deck that can set up a stage 2 on the second turn is not a feature exclusive to expert players (you just need rare candy and the stage 2 pokemon), and neither is getting 2 EXs out (you just need to have exs, which can be obtained with a bit of luck), and there is only 1 card in the game that lets you search for whatever you want (computer search)

the main point is that just because someone has a slightly more extensive collection than you does not make them an expert. to be fai thought there is a large skill gap between day1 beginners and experts, and the 2 difficulty options does not separate this in a even manner ( I would say ~35% people go to expert and the remaining go to novice) and as a result when you choose to play in novice you can get matched up with very variable levels of difficulty, and when you're just a day1 newbie with barely a collection to go on, you're obviously going to be at the bottom of the food chain. best way to ensure you get matched fairly I guess would be to play the computer, but I think even there you can see decks that bring out 2 exs, get stage 2s on turn 2 and search for various cards.

chronophysicist and Cymantex have a point!! Also at now days i notice that the most beginners players play pvp expert and only because only on expert pvp someone is able to earn a token repeat times!! So the very good players who don't interesting to collect tokens and want to simply challenge a player who intresting only for a win they use the novice pvp!! Novice pvp have no repeat rewards and that's mean that the most people usually play pvp novice in order to find a good challenge!! Of course an other way to find a good challenge is via friendly battle!!
