Auto-loss due to inactivity if no basic pokemon?

It looks like sometimes (either for me or my opponent) we automatically lose a game due to inactivity. For some reason, when I'm re-shuffling due to no basic pokemon, my screen shows my opponent already played his/her basic facedown. When I do get a basic pokemon in my hand, I am unable to interact with the cards and lose due to inactivity for 2 minutes.

It looks like somehow the condition is being met that both players are able to start the game even though one of the players actually cannot (i.e. no basic pokemon). Maybe something wrong with the synchronization?

Kinda weird. I've lost automatically, but last time I was battling, my opponent only had an Eevee and i wanted to attack but i wasn't inactive we were chatting the whole duel and before i could attack it just gave me an automatic loss

When your hand is displayed in front of you with a basic and it seems frozen, just click on the basic even if it doesn't prompt you to. It works for me.
