Looking Forward to Plasma Blast - Cradily Weavile

Hi all! With the coming of the new set and the rotation I'd like to make a new deck! I don't like how the metagame is going, that basic Pokémon are so destructive and in my opinion a little OP so I'm not so comfortable to be building a deck that i don't like or a deck that is going to be rotated out (Gothitelle deck that I was trying to build before I realized). So I came up to some ideas on the internet to a fun deck (I like this decks that are not so straight forward attach attack) that may suit my needs. I made a deck list but I would want your opinions to make it better, because no fun deck is worth if it does't win at least sometimes.

The deck is based on the Plasma Weavile and Propagation Exeggcute that is already out on this set but with the addition to Cradily that is coming with Plasma Blast. Here we go!

I personally think that the energy count is very low but I don't know what to take out of the deck.

Thanks for the Attention!!

EDIT:

-1 Empoleon

-1 Cradily

-1 Level Ball

+1 Twisted Mountain

+1 Grass Energy

+1 Darkness Energy

I feel like there are better pokemon to use Cradily with. I was thinking a few different types that have a lot of Supereffects, and Vileplume. That makes all weaknesses x4 instead of x2.

Either way i feel like you dont need empoleon.

Also only have what basic pokemon out of 22 is pretty crazy. Maybe go 2-2 Cradily and take out Empoleon and turn it into energy. Maybe go 2 of each of the balls. With Sableye and Venusaur. It doesnt seem too important to have a bunch of balls.

Yea I guess Empoleon isn't really that necessary since when it gets on the field when I'm pretty much set up and don't need much draw power. About the balls and the Cradily I think that I should only take out one of the two (one of each ball or one Cradily and one Lilly) because I really need to get that Cradily out fast so I can knock out stronger pokemon earlier, I'm probably going for keeping the balls since they can search for what I need at the moment, they are "Skylable", and the ultra ball helps getting the exeggcute on the discard, if I don't get a chance to use vilify so early.

About your deck I think that Vileplume wouldn't be that good just for the fact that you would have to have a lot of different types of stage 2s just to abuse the weakness the energy types can be hard to balance you would need a lot of energy searches but i think that it could work if you find good ones that attack for colorless energy or even that have effects like the Dragonite with Deafen (item lock) it could be fun to play as well. I think that maybe something with with the Plasma Blast Haxorous and Plama KlingKlang neutralizing exes from doing damage, one hitting plasmas, and the 40x number of M energy n haxorous is not that bad.

Also you probably want twisted mountain if it is still legal. Offers you a chance to put down Lileep without having to have it on the bottom of your deck.

I was wanting to put it in there but it would be too many cards just to put one lilly in play. Also I don't like the flipping stuff its too random at least you have ways to put it on the bottom but you can't control the coin flip.

yeah but the whole point of your deck is to get Lilleep into play. Its hard to get into play, it to be A in your hand so you can then put it at the bottom of your deck. That requires that you either discard it or use Caitlin. Then you need to get the Root fossil. All of these have to happen to get this pokemon into play. With the Stadium out you can just flip for it each turn if you want. It requires only 2 things, being in your hand and stadium out. This is much more likely and easier to do. Either way you could just toss in one Stadium to help counter frozen city, virbank, or anything else.

With virbank out, Weavile will only last 2 turns max. Once on their turn, once on your turn and then it dies the next. Also your in trouble with your only attacker being Weavile.

Also you are going a weird route to pull pokemon from your deck when its as simple as load your deck with ultraballs/level balls, use them and then junk hunt for them and use them again. Being able to discard exeggcute over and over means ultraballs are basically the best pokeball for your deck once you have the exeggcute in the discard.

yeah I think I'll add one Twisted Mountain to counter virbank although I think it will be less common on the new format because of Virizon ex. I also been thinking about me taking the pokemon out but I think i'll just take one Cradily (3-2) and the empoleon together with one level ball to add the twisted mountain and two energy. I may take out a root fossil as well but I'm not sure.

Dual Brains Magnezone could work pretty well with Cradily. The ability to use double the Supporters early on could mean good abuse with stuff like gheistis.

In the first build (before i posted here) I had Magnezone in there, but I think once you get set up with cradily you wanna start attacking as soon as possible, and that extra supporter might not be so useful then (when you are already set up) then it would be a dead card and catcher target. Also it would take another spot in the deck which is something I'm already struggling right now.

I personnaly do not see the need of Venausaur in your deck. I personnaly think you can set up different stage2 pokemon with cradly. I will also give up weavile as they do not synergyze really well.Something like gardevoir and gallade can be strong if they are set up quicly by cradly.

If it were me i would probably do something stupid like...

3/4 Fossils

3-3 Cradily

3-3 Seismitoad

2-2 Dusknoir

2x Mr Mime

2/3 Twisted Mountain

Though i didnt put much thought into it and it probably would work better with something that uses on grass energy. But i feel like that is probably a better use of Cradily than using it on a deck that focus on setting up quickly and hitting quickly. Weavile is a deck that takes very little set up and can support itself really well already. Adding Cradily to something like that with a bunch of 3 steps is pointless and just slows it down.

Play something that requires a lot of set up and relies on a bunch of different 2 step pokemon, that is already a good deck. Just another way of setting it up quickly.

Actually, I run a Twist Mountain in my Cradily/Haxorus deck, and it works quite nicely :)
