Question - Especially For Moderators And Professors

Hey guys,

There are some people who are not able to get Pokemon TCGO Codes Or Packs as they either can't afford it or packs are not available in their region.

To such people i sometimes tell about the giveaways that take place on some sites on the internet.

Two days ago, i received a warning that posting links that are not related to the official Pokemon Site is not permitted.

So my question is : Is leading people who can't get Pokemon packs or codes to sites which giveaway codes prohibited?

If it is prohibited, How are such people supposed to get trade-able cards in the Online Game?

This is just a question, no offense!

This is not an official response - but I am drawing upon responses made by Profs on similar threads to help answer this question. Most of the information below is indirectly quoted.

Just to briefly go over the basics:

1) Posting Links is banned as it could lead players of a younger age to inappropriate material. Because of this, even vaguely guiding people towards external sites is prohibited for the same reasons. It could also be that these 'free code' sites have viruses or aim to scam players out of personal information. That is why it is strongly discouraged to reference or link people to external sites.

2) The only way people are able to obtain your first tradable cards is by using payed-for codes. I believe it's intentional that all free cards are untradable to encourage people to buy packs/codes in real life. As much it is fantastic that players are happy to giveaway codes for free to people, it's not always true that there are no strings attached to these giveaways - so in the interest of protecting players (especially younger players), it's generally discouraged to guide people towards all free giveaways as well as Nintendo/the Moderators cannot guarantee the safety of its players on external sites.

Hope that helps - I'm sure a Moderator will tie up any loose ends I've left behind, but I hope that's sped up the process a bit :)

Well the people who have the codes to give away obviously payed for them so it is a product payed for. However the risks that AlexManectric points out are real... But it is clear that external links are in general prohibited and it has nothing to do with the specific content of every single site. It's just prohibited.

I din't really post the links

i just guided some people to go to tube and check out the giveaways

Like I just told people to go to tube and take part in pokemon tcgo giveaways

The ones that told me that they are not able to get the codes and they don't know anythng about the raffles or giveaways,i just told them to check out POKEMON TCGO GIVEAWAYS ON THE NET.

Thats all, I never posted the links!

AlexManectric, my main question is how are such people supposed to get new trade-able cards?

If this Pokemon TCGO game is all about money, what is the meaning of people who cannot get packs being Pokemon Fans?

You can receive 50 free packs (through the Trainer Challenge + Daily Rewards) in 3 days if you want, and that's more than enough to get you started as a Free-To-Play player. I'm sorry, but if you want to get more packs, spend money - you seem to be suggesting it's good for players to get lots of free stuff, but if everyone got their codes for free, the game would collapse financially (as codes are the only source of income). There's plenty to do as a Free-To-Play player - and if you want more, spend money. It's really as simple as that.

i agree with AlexManectric. most of these online games has stuff that can only be purchasen with real money, but its worth it because those stuff improves very well your game. let's say 90% its free and 10& is paid.

But the codes are never free. They are always paid for.

Thats what i am talking about

There should have been some way to get codes cheaply for the people who cannot afford packs

It should have been like there are discounts for Scheduled castes and Scheduled Tribes

No, I was arguing the economical aspect of the issue. Alex was saying that getting those codes for free doesn't do any money for the company, which is false, since somebody bought the packs that come with these codes. So in the case of winners of give-aways using those codes, there is no economical drawback there for PokemonCo; the codes have been paid for.

I think once the use of gems is optimized, it might be what you're looking for.

Except in instances where unscrupulous players shoplift booster packs, knowing that there are no magnetic strips to set off a security alarm.

In some situations, you might have someone steal a great amount of cards, only to give away the codes online and sell the physical cards.

What do you mean 'what's the idea'? Are you literally blind to all the things the developers have put in to give free players more stuff? They can buy booster packs, they can buy theme decks, they get boosters in the daily rewards and can get 45 free packs from the trainer challenge!! What more do you want?! I am trying VERY hard not to just shout at this point, as I have listed these things numerous times and you just seem to ignore them... Please actually read my response before you post - and stop making null points.

But the codes are never free. They are always paid for.

Yeah, I agree - that's the point I was making. That's the best scenario for the future of the game!

Hello trainers,

Please keep this thread civil and do not post rude remarks toward any other players.

Thanks!

Thats wat i m saying

For dose who cannot buy the codes, what is trading to dem???

They are not able to trade. That is intentional design within the game. Either you buy Codes (or Gems in the Future) or you just enjoy the free stuff. There is PLENTY of free things for those who cannot buy codes, and frankly wanting everything is getting a bit greedy.. I am beginning to think I'm not being listened to, and I didn't appreciate that previous comment from you Ahmed, so please read what I say before you respond.. (Thanks Poplar)

Look AhmedS786 for the guys who cannot buy the codes in order to unlock for free trade-able cards they can actually trade with avatar items and perhaps the company allow us to trade with tokens too on the future!! You never know!! I play only for 1 month and i don't know when the game released for the first time if players without money are able to unlock cards for free or the game it was exactly like yugioh online tcg and here without money you cannot unlock cards at all but now Pokemon online tcg allow you to unlock for sure free cards with 4 already methods: trainer challenge , tokens on shop, Login bonus and with trade-able avatar items!!

On the future?? Nobody knows!!
