The Meta in general. Just an opinion.

Anyone else notice that the card game here has become lazy? I mean ex's and other pokemon that are really really good require only 1 energy, thats right ONE. Everyone has caught on to the pokemon that require less and less effort and skill. The game to me is spiraling into auto-piloting and less thought out decks. Its hard to compete when everyone grabs the best ONE drop energy pokemon and exploits it by its speediness combining with other ONE energy drop pokemon. More and more this is going to grow as more pokemon are introduced with this ONE energy drop deadliness.

This is just my opinion, wondering if anyone feels the same way.

Quite true, and usually for those who dont play the turn 1 deadly attacks require to have energy in play in T1 or else they find themself behind.

also strong attacking basics will remain for a while if you seen Chandelure Ex.

itd basic and imo doesnt satisfy the hope of more evolutions in play because its still BASIC! except it isnt supposed to be basic and a non legendary EX.

The current format does lean a lot toward big, fast basics, but decks like Gothitelle (and to a lesser extent, Blastoise) require setup, time, and evolution. Evolution decks can certainly win, even on a scale like Nationals. The main problem is that many evolutions aren't worth evolving to with faster alternatives. The ones that do get played are ones with game breaking capabilities like Blastoise. We'll see what direction the new format moves toward when X and Y come out.

I know of two EX's that can attack turn one (Landorus and Tornadus) (basic energy only). So, who else can attack T1?

that for one is just one deck arctype and some players tend toward certain arctypes. I happen to be a fan of evolutionary beat-downs but one drop beat downs also work but there is a point to some strategic decks I think of the various trade offs. when you build a deck like that you need be willing to falter if you can't stop a deck from happening. that is just 1 style of play.

stalling is another thing that does happen generally the goal of those decks is deck the other person out. this thread seems to be biased toward evolution decks and RCDynamite has said what needed to be said about those. in the sense that the ones that are used generally break the game for the player using them and make it a lot easier. and then there are those that are built to last against anything high hp and moderate damage output. and bench damage is another archtype which i like with this type nothing is safe it does sacrifice damage output to the active but spreads damage around. i have nothing more but if you think of other arctypes please mention them

Cobalion EX can attack with one energy. I agree with the first post 100%. All i see are EXs, novice or Expert and opponents' stupid moves are the only thing that help me survive?

I hate meta decks. Period. They make the game boring for whoever wants to actually be creative and make their own good deck. In tournaments, where winning is necessary, I can understand the use of meta decks, but on an online game?! Please. People who can't make a good deck using their mind should just stay in those tournaments where they belong, not on a game that novice Pokémon players enjoy. Also, Shaymin ex can use synthesis on the first turn, but I don't think that counts :P

i made a good deck that could be devastating to evolutions decks. not all decks rely on EXs
