Damage Counter Ghosts

Now I'm positive that this is not an original idea, but I liked it and am not very knowledgeable about the sets and cards over the last 5-7 years, so I'm looking for tips and cards to improve this more or less casual deck that also don't cost me an arm and a leg. I'd like to not have to go get cards that cost more than a pack and half, preferrably less than that (I understand this may be a stretch).


This is the list I have currently:

1x Energy Retrieval

1x Ultra Ball

2x Pokemon Catcher

Energy - 12

9x Psychic Energy

3x Double Colorless Energy



I've had fun so far, but all the Pokemon except for Gengar Prime are pretty fragile, especially unevolved. I consider Giant Cape, but I don't know if just 20 more HP would be worth the card space. I also considered maybe swapping in some psychic/dark Blend Energy and a few Sableye to reuse the Gold Potion.
