Accenting the 'e': For Your Reference

é vs. e

While we're on this official TPCi website, we should accent that 'e'.

Here's how:

Windows: Alt + 0233

Mac:"On Mac OS X a user can hold option and press e to get ´, then press e and they will get é."

Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%89#Character_mappings

I didn't need the Wikipedia article for the Windows accent. ...Since I've been doing it correct for years now.

Have fun and do things properly. ^.^

And if all else fails you can always copy/paste.

I sort of have the funny image in my head that TPCi people always have "Pokémon" o n th ei r clipboard, ready to paste when needed to save time.

I can't seem to get the accented 'e' on my MS laptop, can you maybe help explain what "0233" means? confused_smile.png

Alt code on your number pad.

See the pad of numbers on the right side with a red box? So hold down the "alt" key (you might want to definitely have numlock on) and press on 0, then 2, then 3, and then 3.

é.

Lemme try now! Pokémon. W00t!! Thanks, Ludwig!!! teeth_smile.png

Welcome.

If I was TPCi I would have the censor censor "Pokemon" with "Pokémon", like my own forum does.

Except then links to pokemon.com wouldn't work. >.>;;;

Pokémon. Cool!

It's weird though, because on this pc I could do it with alt+130...Strange but I learned it from somewhere. I guess it works whichever way it's easier for the person to remember. Thanks!

But thanks ludwig! Where did you get your name from anyways? Ludwig?

The [High] Prince of Koopa Kingdom, Ludwig Von Koopa.

I'm the brilliant guy who campaigned to get that icon made back at NSider.

It sort of fits that elsewhere I'm known as "PrinceOfKoopas".

But then Ludwig Von Koopa got upstaged (along with his other six siblings) by the most annoying (and, strangely, seemingly favorite) child, Bowser Jr. angry_smile.png

So I JUST realized the post-editor has an "Insert Special Character" feature and the accented e is present in there:

é

Now you people have no excuse. >.>;

Sheer laziness is always an excuse. Perhaps not a valid excuse, but it's always an excuse.

But not lazy enough to not be on the forum to begin with, eh.

When Pokemon is in GRAVE danger, it would look like this:

Pokèmon

You, you and your AIGU fanclub.

THANKS FOR MAKING IT CLEAR.

I GET IT FULLY NOW.

...<.<;

I want to say it still isn't funny because I should've gotten it to begin with, but I couldn't help internally chuckling.

I think the whole accent thing in the word pokemon is something that nobody cares, other than you that is. I mean, really. I mean, who would replace one keystroke, with 4 keystrokes? I bet you use stuff like lol, or m8, or GF, or BFF on IMs. Last time I checked, everybody knows what pokemon means when they see that word. It isn't like there is some other product out there called pokemon.

Sometimes I intentionally pronounce the word wrong just to screw with diehard fans' minds.

@Bold: I actually don't. <.<; Do I have to prove that to you or can you take my word for it?

@Underlined: That's cruel. ;____;

I've always been a fan of the proper way of namin' things 'n' such. It's named that way for a reason and we ought to respect it.

Edit: In a perfect world, people wouldn't be lazy, things would be communicated in a proper way, and Critical Research Failures wouldn't occur. The world ain't perfect, which is why the topic title says: "For Your Reference".

Oh I get it, it is for people who care about the correct spelling. My bad. But I do say, spelling Pokemon wrong isn't like it is going to ruin my life anyway. C'mon, it's just a hobby, and it isn't like I work at TPCi

I don't anyone will blame you if you won't. For me, I do it automaticly, since the "é" is a commonly used letter in Dutch.
