Poor retreat AI

Using Vaporean's Dual Splash attack when facing your opponent's non-powered up active pokemon is an auto win situation at this point in time. The AI will continue to power up all their pokemon on the bench, but even after powering up a benched pokemon's best attack, the AI will not retreat the active pokemon for the benched one.

Hope this glaring whole in the AI gets fixed in the next round...

More importantly, the AI doesn't seem to know how to retreat.

Probably because the tutorial-writers are convinced that retreating is a really bad idea.

Currently the AI has downs but as someone said in another post, this game seems to be initially in mind for online play against other actualy players.

Retreating is the most important factor in this TCG imo. If you have a benched pokemon ready to go and your pokemon is about to die, reatreating should be the obvious decission. Even if your active pokemon hits like a truck, you could still use it later on for a quick swap out and one shot another of the opponents pokemon instead of just dealing damage.
