Welcome! This is the updated version of my Value guide 3.0 I have spent a great deal of time reorganizing everything for a more refined and organized look. Please note that this guide is only a reference, I decided the value of cards based on playability, availability and demand. Also I try to keep values as unbiased as possible. If you don't like my guide then please, feel free to make your own and go by it. This guide is for everyone to use. If you feel something needs adjustment please provide a reason and I will consider revising it. The guide is new, I'm open to suggestions.

Q:What is a card value?

A:It is a representation of what a card is worth in packs. Let's say you have a Mewtwo EX Full Art, on my guide it says it's 8 packs. You won't pull a Mewtwo FA in 8 packs, but that's what people should be offering/asking for it. Card values are pretty much a standard to be able to trade fairly.

 

Q:Why do I have to offer packs? Why not just cards?

A:You do not have to always have to offer packs to get something you like. It may just be the traders preference. If you want to trade for someone's Mewtwo FA, but have no packs. Try and offer something of equal or greater value to try and persuade someone into trading with you. For example, you have x3 Pokemon Catchers (3 packs each), you can trade 3 of them towards a Mewtwo FA. The trade is in the other person's favor but there's always room for negotiation.

 

Q:Why isn't my card listed in your guide?

A:Truth is, it's probably not worth a whole lot to mention. There probably isn't a demand for it and it has been rotated out.

 

Q:What do .5 Values mean?

A:.5 Values mean half a pack, of course you can't trade away half a pack, but is a more accurate representation of the card. Same goes for .25 values and etc.

 

Q:I have a reverse holo version of a card, is it the same value as the regular?

A:If the card happens to be a reverse holo of a playable meta game card it can vary from 0.5-1 pack.

 

Q:Why are people the majority of people advertising cards for a much higher price in public offers than what is on your guide? Is it really accurate?

A:Oftentimes there may be a spike in the value of the card, this guide does not update in realtime or post values for cards that spike up for a day. If that trend continues for several days I will change it accordingly. I'll update weekly, not every minute.

Unlimited:Cards not legal for tournament play, cards from the HeartGold Soulsilver format - Call of Legends.

Great guide! But I disagree with some values, especially Kyogre values.

 

Kyogre Regular Art should not be more than 2.00.

Kyogre Full Art should not be more than 3.00.

 

I will post about other values too at which I disagree, just need a bunch of free time for that which I don't have currently. :-P

Ex values are way off, cba to point em all out because you'd be able to figure this out yourself by spending a single day @ public trade. Full art N and FA Terrakion from NV prove that fact since people are all too eager to exchange 3 Ex's for them (example: Groudon ex FA + Tornadus ex reg + Ho-oh ex reg). The only Ex's above 3 packs ea from DRE and onwards are Raikou +1 and fa +3, Mew fa +2, Tornadus fa +1, Darkrai +1 and fa +3, Rayquaza +1 and fa +3. Terrakion Ex value looks spot on though.

Slowpoke, if you look at some offers at the least, they are the price that I wrote. Maybe at the most they are those prices, but I don't think so.

Lol ok, good luck making this a believable price guide then. Those 'some' offers are offers made by merchants who apparently want to waste both parties' time by trying to get 2 or so more packs (codes) value for their cards that only cost $0.30 each (LOL). I'd give you the names of these merchants but that wouldn't be too nice of me to do + tis probably against the rules. You could find this out by yourself aswell - just follow some metagame card offers, memorize/write down some names of people and follow their offers to see if they sell or not. Easy enough to figure out who's always going to put up an unfavorable deal for you after seeing a few of their offers.

 

P.S. Prices do change, you know? Pretty sure these prices were from the time that DEX/DRE came out. Since then we've seen Quaza/Darkrai/Mewtwo promo's which made their value drop. Same goes for example Ho-Oh when people figured out that it doesn't really work in any deck or Mew when they noticed how it gets 1 shot easily by Mewtwo (which a lot of people have now ty to promo, btw). Just saying.

A rough estimate on how much those cards will be. Expect Stoutland to be worth a lot at a much later date if Ghetsis gets printed here, but for now that's the valuation I would put on those cards.

1. Didn't you notice that there was an identic thread? You could have posted there your thoughts and adding 3.0 doesn't change anything.

2.Only 10% of the people check the forums so these threads are nearly useless.

3.Everyone has their own opinion and prices ,that means a price guide isn't affidable.

this was a great start! looks like you ***** lot of time in which people arent quite appreciating... the only tough thing about a price guide for this as of right now is the inability to narrow all of the trades on the market. As such a card like switch or energy switch, for example, probably should only be worth barely half a pack, but are going for 2 packs, same with N as there is no real way to search out some cards in particular without hitting 100 responses... hopefully the this will be addressed soon, but so far this is a great idea!

The prices he has are pretty much agreed up by most of the big traders as the prices to go by. Of course anyone could ask whatever they want, just don't expect people to pay if you ask to high.
