Avatars in the forums

I believe that forum users should be able to upload photos to use as avatars on this forum.

People could use inaproprate pictures or have vireses uploaded that way. Its hard to monitor it. I like the idea but for a pokemon websight that has 5 year olds and 25 year olds I don't think it would be a smart move... =/

I believe this would be a mistake as well.I believe the avatars should stay as to what ever the mods and programmers stipulate they should be.Too easy for others to take advantage of a situation ment to be a good idea.Later.

you can't. they took down the avatar creator, and you can't use picture files.

Nice pic. I agree with you we should upload our own pics to use as avater since a lot of other forums can allow that, but I also believe someone might put up an inaproprite picture though.

it'd be nice to be able to put up our own pictures for our avatars, but that would also cause more trouble and work for the Mods, cuz they would have to be the one's to watch out for bugged or inaproprite pics. And it'd be harder for little kids to understand how to do that, put up a picture. Rather than just clicking on clothes and things that the team from pokemon.com made.

I don't know about other websites, but on another I know, if you were to post an inappropriate photo you immediately get banned, I don't know about other website but I can imagine that its probably similar

Hello. I would like to vote against this. When inappropriate images have been posted, even if that user gets banned, the effects of these images even when just viewed for a second will stick to the viewers(which will often be kids) for a life time. This is proven. So it is best to make this place clean.

I'n the new avitar creator I hope they have alot of options when making your avitar. It be cool if they had pokemon as well as trainers.

Also, prof. emerald, I meant to make the picture show up in the post. Not a link to the picture, but the IMG BB code thing makes a link instead of a picture.

I can see how it would be a problem, but couldn't they set it up so that the mods have to approve the picture before it apears as you avatar?

(And yes, I'm back after a long hiatus, but I'm not sure if I'll be staying for long... )

We will not be permitting custom avatars on these forums in the foreseeable future. The ability to change your current avatar will return when the Avatar Builder is unlocked in the game.
