Will tokens ever be worth something?

I get the feeling that there is a lot more to the tokens than this. I know there are updates coming along so maybe by then the tokens can be used as currency for boosters or something along those lines.

 

I've managed to collect 190 of them so far so I hope I'm right.

Yeah, as you can see, instead of making tokens useful, they just take the easy way and make trade less useful.

I think perhaps I'm not clearly understanding the graphic without reading the news story. Is the graphic indicating that you'll have to "pay" tokens just to list an item up for trade? Or does it mean that you can use tokens to buy specific cards?

If I'm understanding the image correctly, you can list your trade for 8 hours for free, and can spend tokens to list it for a longer period of time (which is useful if you can't or don't want to re-list it every 8 hours).

Pokémon.com is where I go to find out about the new expansions, check for Pokémon Play stuff and whatnot.

 

It's fun to change that tiny avatar to your situation, which is more fun if you have more stuff.

Honestly, I couldn't tell you what my pokemon.com avatar looks like off the top of my head, and I go there fairly often. While I understand that it's fun for some people, it would be nice if they could provide some other options for those of us who don't care about it.

Unless they change it from the picture, you don't NEED tokens to trade, just if you want to list a trade for more than 8 hours at once (and there's something about being refunded, I think, it's hard to read the text). Annoying, sure, but not as bad as you think.

The old trading system had flaws.

 

They have created a new system for V2. They want to make sure that it is as bullet proof as possible as trading issues can be devastating and cannot be undone.

 

So we should have trading in the next 2-3 weeks and it will be wild at the start.

I remember before I started here when I was winning tokens in the minigames at Pokemon.com and I noticed that if you change your country you could get different limited edition avatar items depending which country's pokemon site you were visiting.

Edit: The version of my native country's language doesn't have a trainer store; can't do anything with my avatar but see it.

Darn, I heard that the tokens would be for trading, but I figured that by that they meant that you could use them in the trades. Like maybe they could let you redeem booster credits with them. Even if the boosters require a large amount of tokens (like 500), they would at least be useful in trade as some kind of currency.

 

I guess it's good that tokens will have some use, but that's not exactly what I was thinking.
