"Chat is currently unavailable"

I've been trying to play against my friend, but in the bottom left corner of my screen it just says "Chat is currently unavailable." Also, the friends list is greyed out at the top, any idea how I can fix this?

in my experience you just have to give it a while to load. it make take quite sometime but just be patient.

Are you talking about give it a few days and eventually it will work, or after being logged in for a few hours it will? Because I've had it on for hours at a time probably, and it has never seemed to work.

Hey Fish Warrior, I have the same problem as you and I'm fairly sure it involves the space in your username.

 

My account out of all my friends who play the game is the only one that didn't work, so i created a new account without a space in and that worked perfectly. Hopefully the devs are aware of this and will fix it soon.
