People Quitting when they start to loose? What is up with that?

I have played about 4 games in a row and have been about to win and the person quits, they should make some kind of thing like halo has, after you quit a game so many times, you can't join another for ten minutes, and the more you quit, the longer the time gets.

What do you guys think? I just don't think it's fair for people to quit because they are loosing, I don't like to loose either but I mean you win some, you loose some.

heh, look this problem has been discussed SO many times here it isnt funny... we all hate it, but for now it's something we have to deal with =) however the timed lockout system could be good, so long as it informs you of their concession when they quit, rather than just letting you think they're taking ages to resolve that trainer...

also theres a suggestions sticky thread up the top of this general forum, try throwing this in there too =)

i know what you mean... thay dont conclude the game. thay just leave. maybe before the game gos live thay'll may have it to were the game declares the winner when the person leaves.( winner being the one that stays.)

I guess it's easier to just click the refresh button at the top of the page than to go into all the options and find the concede button. Some might not even know that there is a way to concede.

I get that all the time, I think only 10 to 20% of the games i've played did end the match properly.

People just can't take losing that well.

i don't mind if they concede but its when they just leave, (often power/legend card users that dislike losing) i only ever refresh if my game isnt working properly i always try to concede and i only ever do that if im in a practice game looking for my partner to battle (we are kinda competitive) also i have learned recently that some cards are bugged so when u play them it can cause a blue screen there end but not ures however when the game goes live properly im guessing that shouldnt happen but who knows....

Yep it really does tick me off. I agree with the poster above, its the people who have bought legend cards etc. who tend to abondon it, probably because they've spent a lot of money on it then you have someone like me who has barely spent anything but defeats them. Not on a regular occasion of course, but if they're losing then its either due to bad luck or a bad deck, and it's not really fair on the other player if they leave.

I really think something should be done about this; because I'm guessing there are a lot of people, like me, who don't have access to a league but enjoy the game, and this would be the perfect option for them. This way I'd actually start buying decks and boosters again just for this game. It would benefit nintendo a lot. But if this keeps happening; the game is no longer enjoyable and it will slowly cause people to lose interest.

I think a lockout is necessary to prevent this. If any of you have played WoW (sorry to bring this into it), you get a lockout of 15 minutes if you leave battles early, for example. I think a similar style of lockout would work well. In addition to this; you could also cap the time per turn to either 3 or 5 minutes so that people don't try and stall to annoy the other player immensely if they are about to win. Hmm. I can already see flaws in this kind of idea, but atleast something needs to be done about it.

Legend users also DC if they can't get a Legend on the field within the first few turns. Last game had someone use Legend Box (no Legend), Sage's Training (no Legend), and then when he used his 2nd Sage Training on the next turn he DCed. Very fishy moment if you ask me.

.

Yeah, I can also win like that, only playing games where I get my main cards...

I don't understand that. What is the point of playing a game if you only ever want to win and don't at all want to challenge yourself? Seriously, the game is beter off without them.

Edit: The first game after writing this was someone who had only one basic pokemon, and then didn't flip the coin so I was waiting for 3 minutes until I eventually conceeded, they had obviously left. Probably one of those who didn't get the basic they wanted.

I had someone DC when they were going to lose, as well as right when the game began, as we were setting up cards! I only ever DC when I have technical difficulties, like if the lag becomes so bad that I can't select a card.

@tking17 Its one thing for someone to concede if they are losing and want to wrap up but there are many out there who just disconnect when things go even slightly out of their favour that are real bad sports

What's wrong with scooping a match? If it's not gonna go anywhere, I don't see why you can't just give up.

The thing is that instead of properly conceeding, where you hit "Conceed" and you end the match with you automatically losing and your opponent automatically winning, many people either hit "refresh," exit their browser, etc. to disconnect from the game. The current problem with this is that nobody wins or loses the match when this happens. You might be winning a match and waiting for your opponent to make their next move and notice that it's taking them an unusually long time to make a move. Then, you view the chat window and chances are that you see that your opponent has left the room so that they would avoid getting a loss. Then you would have no choice but to disconnect as well without taking a victory.

Well, I'm really sick of these people! I've waited half an hour, but they didn't continue the game, so I gave up!

thing that gets me is that rankings are NOT up and running yet so if u get a loss its not exactly a huge bum out is it? besides ive had numerous games where im down to my last prize card and due to a lil luck and good gameplay ive come back to win a lil courage and skill would go a long way with these people still i enjoy taking note of the players and crushing them every chance i get :D

is there ANYONE on this godforesaken site that is NOT a chicken...i mean seriously people are either just leaving the room or taking so damn long i have to leave the room seems the only way to get a good match is to play people i know which equates to....TWO people add to that the difficulty in trying to get the match set up do we really have to wait till full release to be able to use the friends feature??? grrr just wanna play a decent battle without whimps/chickens and sore losers ARGHHHHHHHHHH

Unfortunately, in every video game, there are "cocky poo-poo double dog doody icky cootie boogerheads" who pull the ethernet cord, and there is nothing that could be done without punishing those with bad connections.

i have yet to finish a battle with another person i either finish the match in the first three turns or not at all the minute i defeat his legend card he leaves the room

so trainers beware if ure up against either of these kinds of players keep checking the games room cuz if ure any good they wont play you

Hey everybody!

I understand that certain people may not be playing fair on the TCG Online, but they are technically innocent until proven guilty. It could be a misunderstanding, after all (I know, I know, sometimes you know what they're up to without a doubt in your mind). No matter how doubtful their intentions, please do not call out certain players in anger or frustration in forums.

Also I'm happy to announce that planned updates will be implemented to chill some of the frustration we all experience with these types of players ^_^ Check it out!

Stay cool!

ok ill apologise this once, but only this once as i stated in my post the players involved have done this REPEATEDLY if it was once yes a tech issue might be to explain for it twice...could be a certain card that causes a "bluescreen error" but im no fool i take note of everything i see (i mean come on its WHY im so good at this game) and the ONLY consistency is that they are losing

now about your announcment its a start and i assume that in a ranked game (when the rankings feature will actually be released) it will affect there rankings and count as a loss etc which from what i understand will leave them facing each other as low ranked players dont often face against high ranked players (if im wrong feel free to correct me just the way i have interpreted this feature) if so good if not then it will be just as frustraiting being able to see that the player has left the room (because it tells you) and having the choice to leave to or wait to see if its a deserter or someone with a tech issue the idea needs some more work

You're pretty much on-target there azreal1! It counts as a loss and will affect their rankings if they repeat the offense too many times. Don't worry! We've heard everyone's feedback about this and are working on it!

I read your announcement post Prof_Snow. I still think there needs to be encouragement to conceed the match on your own if you don't feel like finishing a match. If the norm is still going to be,"If I'm losing a match, then do something like refresh the page," then people who are winning matches will often have to wait that certain amount of elapsed time before they finally get the victory. I think it's a waste of a player's time and I see it happening too often if there isn't an encouragement for players to just click "Conceed" to bring a quick end to a match.
