Players with ridiculously overpowered decks

I'm hoping someone can answer this question for me... why is it that whenever I play on expert, the opponent has about 10 EX cards/ultra rare ones, or just a COMPLETELY overpowered deck? Now I understand that it's "expert" mode, but there is NO WAY people are that lucky to open packs and get all these amazing cards, especially multiples of the ones I've seen. I've opened about 15 myself and have yet to find a single EX or equally rare card... Cheaters or something else??

how have they traded? you can't yet... or was it an option before the latest update?

trading used to be an option. they took it down for a bit though to work on a newer version and it should be up soon.

People with the income that can afford to buy booster boxes will always have the advantage

In every CCG, whoever has the most money to spend always has the advantage

Someone told me they open 100 packs a month which if you buy them on ebay that's like $20-$30 a month. That is more then 99% of the mmos out there

I believe that was me, an while the game may cost more then others of a similar format it is far less then things like a phone bill or a trip to the movies. Point being that amount of money isn't going to break the bank for most people and they could accumulate quite a collection from this. I have opened roughly 400 packs but back when i had only 40-50 opened i was able to build pretty capable decks with the cards i had. Now at this point i am sitting on 40 plus EX cards and many other high powered rares.

I do realize that some people don't have the money to spare or a method of purchasing these codes other then through buying packs one at a time. For that reason i believe is why they give away the free Basic Yellow deck for players to experiment with. When players mess around with it and grow they have to decide if they want to expand there game and compete on a higher level.

Ah so trading doesn't work right now. That answers the bulk of my questions.

Is there any other way to add to your collection? The yugioh games have codes on your cards which you can enter in the GBA to play it on the game. I don't see any of those codes on the pokemon cards.

^This

I had about 200 codes and I opened about 100 of each and got almost everything i needed. I could use 1 more Darkrai EX or 2 more Garchomps and maybe a Raikou EX but other than that I got pretty much everything else.

This isn't like the yugioh games to be quiet straight-forwarded

But if you want to play a yugioh game that has every single card and pvp you should try duelingnetwork. Great site for dueling pvp. No ai's just straight making decks with whatever cards you want and dueling real life people.

You're playing Expert man. Thats the idea. People buy large amounts of codes off Ebay for low price because they are just the codes. A lot of people stock piled them while they waited. And YES EXes tend to be quite rare. Sometimes you DO get lucky, other times you open 15 packs of trash. That's the nature of the games. Most competive decks use several EX cards, thats how the game is. It's always been that way. If not EXes then Primes or whatever. They make the best cards the rarest so that you buy more hoping to get them. Its how card games make money. If you could go out and buy all the cards in a couple packs, then there would be no fun in it. Now I do think they could be a little less rare at times, but still.

Its also true that players with a lot of money will have an edge, just like people with a lot of money have an edge at just about everything in life, from card games, to the Presidential Elections.

i would only expect you to pull about 1 or 2 exs with only 15 packs, but as myself i have opened about 200 packs and yes it is quite easy to get a couple darkrai ex and the like to build some tier 1 decks... simply put - you need to either find a way to get some more boosters, stop playing in expert, or build a rogue deck like accelgor, ninetale/amoongus, or something else to defeat the exs

also, add me as a friend on ptcgo... when trading does come back i would be more than happy to trade you some top cards at a good rate (especially trainers as these are the staples to build a good deck, sometimes more so than any ex)

There should be an expert mode that doesnt allow EX cards. If your an expert player You shouldn't need to use EX, since your an expert.

if you were an expert, wouldn't you also be able to win the game faster by knocking out an EX and drawing 2 prizes instead of 1? people need to stop complaining and realize yes EXs are very strong but they come with a severe penalty if your opponent knocks them out. it doesn't take an EX to knock out an EX either.

1st off hello gravybeast and flub.Long time no see.2nd thing is i agree with gravybeast. You dont need an EX to knock out ex cards. If you cant hang with the ex cards yet dont be on expert. And ex cards will be around for some time so you better get used to it or stay at novice. And,expert play comes from knowing your cards and knowing how to play your cards. If you dont know what the difference is then stay at novice. Also it stems from the strategy you devise for your deck and how well your decks are calibrated to get set up and run with the deck.Ive seen alot of the new ex cards and beaten them with lesser cards.People or trainers believe they can power their way threw a battle withem.Theirs more to a battle then power. But itll take first hand experience to explain that one so i wont even try at this point.Once you have a good calibrated deck and a good strategy your deck will be on its way.But without these 2 major things power wont do it alone.

Well gravy and all good battleing and see you on the battle zone-or this case the war front.LATER!
