EX-pokemon

i am a novice, an extreme novice and i find myself facing poeple who use EX pokemon in the novice multiplayer. I am very new to this and find it demoralizing when faced with a bench of pokemon, 3 or which are Mewtwo EX, or kyogre EX. i am trying to learn the game properly and the skill srequired, but keep getting slaughtered. Is there a way we can ban EX pokemon from the novice area?

It is becoming quite an issue, as well as the thing with the rescue scarf which i am removing from my decks because of that glitch. However the people running the super powered decks in novice are doing so because they can't compete in the expert level. So instead of trying to get better they make themselves feel good by beating people running the basic yellow deck or a structure deck they got a code for.

It wont change, best option is probably just quit out of the match and try to find another opponent. Its not a ranked match or anything like that so its not going to be a major setback if you leave the match. Sadley this is all that can really be done, as far as i am aware there is no rule againt running certain deck in novice so there will always be a few who will take advantage of this.

i dont think its fair, cuz i still have to use the basic yellow deck, and then there was someone with like, a dark-rai ex, and using a rescue scarf. but whatever, if theres nothing we can do.

please excuse me if i sound rude, but only wimps cry about losing to strong cards. you have to realise that they are made tough, and you just have to deal with it. after all, if ex cards defeat you, you should feel lucky to even see the cards

Written by someone who sounds like he spent a lot of money on some EXs and thinks his penny-pinching opponents should be honored to be graced with his presence.

Look: EX cards are a huge problem. You make a deck full of EX Pokemon or you can't win, plain and simple. Opponent draws an EX, you lose. They're bigger, stronger, and faster than Stage 2 Pokemon without having to evolve at all. They're by far the most powerful cards ever created in the history of the game, and they're sucking the fun out of it.

Ex cards in the novice play zone is not really sporty play on that person's part imo. They understand how to use and play cards and should stick to the expert zone with a deck like that.

Now if a basic yellow deck is in the expert mode then that is on the basic yellow player.

Maybe everyone is confused like I was, but Novice and Expert aren't difficulty levels. In all honesty, they should be renamed to Ranked and Unranked to avoid further confusion. Anyone can play unranked if they want. It's for fun. If losing isn't fun to you, don't play at all. It's a part of the game.

Your basically telling people dont bother playing unless you have a ton of money to buy EX cards

If you are using EX cards and your deck is not good enough for expert, then your building your deck wrong

wow, this got more feedback than i thought... good to see im not the only one bothereed by a benchfull of EXes. they do suck the fun out of it. And like i said, i dont mind losing, but if its a 6-0 sweep with an EX card, i still find it demoralizing.

No, I'm telling people that they need to get real. The fact is that anyone can play Novice, so be prepared to lose occasionally. My friend only uses the four free decks, and he's lost three games out of twelve, and five of those twelve were Expert games. If he can do it, so can anyone else. No matter your skill level or card choice, you will lose eventually, and if you don't find that fun, I'm sorry but that's how it is.

Besides that, you missed my point. Novice is not a lower ranking, it is a completely different sytem for players not wanting to play in a competitive setting which is great for testing out decks or relaxing. I'm not sure about everyone else, but I'd like to test my new deck out in an unranked setting before getting completely destroyed in a ranked one which would count (once this is out of Beta) on my records.

Also, free decks are HG and SS cards, so they will be rotated out anyway on the first of September. I don't see anyone complaining about that, but I'd think it's a more pressing issue. The same people who complain about being overrun in Novice won't even be able to play once that date rolls by, unfortunately. Luckily for them they can buy codes for very cheap. You don't have to be rich to play this game. I've spent $10 total and have redeemed exactly 40 booster pack codes.

There are no ranking, novice has no rank and expert has no rank, so there is little point playing novice when expert works just as good

Also the starter decks wont rotate because there are multiple card formats, Unlimited allows all card sets, which is what the current set up is (currently for online Unlimited and Modified are the same format)

But considering all the people who are exploiting bugs at the moment (rescue scarf and Garchomp for example), only people who have a equal deck stand a chance.

You may not see a problem with having a good deck, but many more are turned away because loosing all the time sucks, and your deck will never get better if you easily beat people.
