Am I the only one who does this....

I'm just wondering if I am the only one who plans a team for a playthough of a pokemon game....I already planned my team for White 2.

I do! I plan to start with a lv 5 Jolteon that I trade over, and my other 5 will be Vaporeon, Lucario, Braviary, Flygon, and a Druddigon I actually dislike newer started pokemon, so I always use a different starter.

I'm willing to show people my playthrough team (even though it's on another thread) If they want. Also I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Yea I tend to ditch the starters I have early. I like to put restrictions on myself before i start a playthrough, like dual-types only. white2 im planing a team with none of the main 3 types, fire, water or grass, should be fun

Mind if i start rambling now?

Was going todo the psy/dark/fighting cycle, then a flying, electric, and one flex pokemon for whatever I want

maybe a bisharp, solosis, throh, emolga, and 2 pokemon for whatever i want. 1 that resists fire and one that i think is fun to play with.

I personally prefer first beating the game with whatever pokemon I find or manage to get in GTS. It makes it feel more like a journey for me.

Afterwards, I ditch the starter and start making an awesome new team designed for butt kicking.

I normaly don't like ditching my starter (it's a bond thing). I also like using pokemon I've never used before (keeps things fresh)

Well I kind of understand where they are coming from especialy in Jhoto and Unova where not all the starters can be very useful (Meganium and Serpirior)

Bulbasaur is Beast when it evolves into Venusaur, I have a lv. 98 Venusaur that can easily KO a Charizard with Solarbeam

Well in White 2 Snivy is only useful against 2 gym and weak against 5 and possibly the champ because it's Iris and Meganium doesn't have any advantages against any Jhoto gyms.

But both of them are defensive and good (Meganium) and great (Serperior) movesets

Well in competitive battles they're probably very good, but during playthough I tend to go for tanks and sweepers (mostly tanks) just to get quick kills.

Personally I just like playing through the game with the given pokemon on the first run through. Theeeeeen I trade over pokemon from different games.
