To purchase packs in the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online Shop, you will need to obtain booster credits. These booster credits can be obtained through specially marked physical packs of Pokémon Cards and theme decks that contain online codes. These packs will have a red card logo with the words “online”. If the pack does not contain this logo, it will not include an online code. Once you have an online code, you will need to log into your account and visit the redeem code section. Once you redeem the online code, you will receive a booster credit which you can use to purchase packs in the Shop. The coins you are referring to are known as tokens. These tokens can be obtained by playing games found on Pokémon.com. Tokens can only be used to purchase items for your avatar in Pokémon.com. You can purchase the items in the Trainer Store found on Pokémon.com.
