Hardest Pokémon to catch?

Hey guys, let's hear your stories about which Pokémon was the hardest to catch for you. Was it a roaming Pokémon? A high-level legendary? Run out of Ultra Balls? The ultra-exclusive Shiny that you accidently knocked out? Tell your stories here.

Well, back in Fire Red, it took ages for me to catch a Chansey, other than that, my Breloom's spore has helped me capture all the available legendaries with little trouble.

I just wish I could find a shiny. :c

For me the hardest pokemon to catch are shiny pokemon (give or take I am lucky and run into them alot when I play my White game) but other then that I really don't know I captured the legends like it was nothing

i only had poké balls, level balls and 3 timers

i saved before i started and tried 30 times again

i catched him when he was asleep and his hp in orange

it was soo difficult, now i have 4 articunos :)

EDIT: i have a shiny ponyta, not with pokéradar, just apears after a lot normal ponytas, one pokéball and caught

Cressalia and other wandering Pokemon, it is so frustrating and tedious to try to catch!! But Cressalia was the worst...

Heya Ezio, I logged in just to reply to your thread - nice to see the Profs reach out to the community a bit =P

I had one of those moments that you mentioned. It still hurts when remembering it.

Pokemon Gold - had just beaten the 8th gym (can't quite remember the name of the town, but it was dragon-type based), but it turned out that I had to go around back to collect something (either gym badge or the waterfall TM). Okay I thought, just a little chore, go in, grab X loot, get out. Totally forgot that I was very low on ANY pokeballs though. I had 4 left in total, all different types of pokeballs. And whaddaya know....

Encountered a Shiny Magikarp while I was surfing over to the building in the middle. Would've been perfect to have both a Shiny Gyarados and Magikarp, especially if you also collected the old gen Pokemon cards which I did. Neo Revalations had Shiny Gyarados and Magikarp as the Shiny's in that set, and I had both of those cards.

Right, thing is, I wasn't packing any weak Pokemon due to the gym battle that I just had and didn't have a Pokemon with false swipe on me either. So, it was down to the 4 pokeballs that I had. 3 of em were those acorn type balls - the Shiny Magikarp broke out of those 3 immediately. 1 Great ball left, it had to happen now......well, it didn't. In the end I was forced to kill it off with my Gatr - that was definitely the most painful moment in my Pokemon history lol.

It did teach me one thing though - I've never been low on pokeballs ever again since that moment, + I always carry around a Poke with false swipe + a sleep/paralyze move now aswell. Still though, what a shame. The only shinies I've ever encountered after that were bloody Oddish would you believe it, 3 of them in fact lmao. I know that shiny Pokes are alot easier to catch now with the chaining method in D/P/P, but I just can't be bothered with that. Grew out of the hype, I suppose.

I still don't have Cresselia OR Mesprit in both Diamond and Platinum. And I never managed to catch Kangaskhan in the Safari Zone in FireRed, either.

Giratina and Uxie were hard-to-get, too. I threw an Ultra Ball at Uxie, having weakened it of course, and it escaped. Yet later, it deigned to let a Great Ball catch it. It was very confusing. But when I faced Giratina, I tried to see if it did the same thing. No luck. I did eventually catch the thing in an Ultra Ball...

Geez...Chansey...hands down XP

I also had difficulties with Pinsir, Scyther, and Kangaskhan....

But Chansey by far was the most difficult...at least in my opinion.

Sawk is easier to catch in Black than in White. In White you have to find a rustling grass and hope it's not Audino. It's the same with Throh for Black.

In Black rustling grass (So far) is normally a Audino or a Pansear, Pansage, or Panpour.

I used 2 Pokeballs, a Heal Ball, a Great Ball, a Ultra Ball, and another Great Ball to finally catch Sawk!!!!!

Oh, you're INSIDE the forest. I meant outside, where the nurse lady is. There are no elemental monkeys outside. I think my Sawk was finally caught in a Heal Ball...

Mine is in Great Ball. No, I'm not inside. I'm where the gates are. I go through the gates and keep going, and there are stairs. I search through the grass upstairs.

Gates? Stairs? I'm getting confused... I guess I haven't been through Pinwheel Forest in a while. <img src="http://www.pokemontcg.com/javascripts/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/png/tounge_smile.png" alt="" /> Hahaha! Anyway, are you trying to get the Dragon Skull?

No, I did that. I went back to catch a Panpour, and a Sawk. At the entrance, there is the Nurse. Then there is a open gate beside her. I go through it and wind through everything until I find stairs.

Once you go through that gate, that's what I call "inside." Anyways, we should get back to topic...

Mewtwo in FireRed. Pretty Difficult.

Oh, that gate. See? I told you I hadn't played in a while. I thought you meant that one thing, the entrance... thing... whatever they call those. I can sure be stupid...
