I'll begin posting more when my preordered copy arrives from PlayAsia. I'll bump the thread immediately as soon as I've made substantial progress. Hope you look forward to the run!

 

 

 

Welcome gals and girls! If you may no or not know, I will be beginning a progress report plathrough of Pokemon White 2, right on this thread! If you don't know already yet, me and my sister purchased both Black 2 and White 2 from Japan! ust a little warning that this thread will eventually be chock full of spoilers and the like, plus plenty of photos to compensate. If you want to play the game spoiler free, stop reading now. :D

 

If you're familiar with how these non-video log playthroughs work, I'll be posting imagecaps and details of my progression, such as my moves and my team and tell you when I've been playing the game. I'll be playing through Pokemon White 2 because of my Kyuram (heh, get it?) love but Kyurom fans don't fear! The game comes with a special 'key' system that allows me to swap special ingame keys (it's a new game feature) with my sisters version, and allows us to switch appearances and places ingame (For example, Black city will become white forest!). I'll also get my hands on a Kyurom eventually (GTS!) so I can get hands on and see how well they play in the regular battle scene and competitive scene.

 

The Trainer:-

Name:- Aegis

 

Gender:- Female

 

Why this? Because I had a male character in my last run, and I always interchange between male and female throughout the games (female in pearl, male in black, etc). I have to keep the names short because of the Japanese character limit, so I named her Aegis. After greek mythology. Expect to see me name alot of my pokemon after things, I tend to do that.

 

 

 

Planned Starter For This Run:-

Nickname: Metis

 

Gender: ????

 

Nature: ????

 

Why Oshawott, you say? Well, my Pokemon Black playthrough used top favourite Unova starter of mine, Snivy. But I always like to change the game up a bit. Plus, Oshawott's final Evolution, Samurott, is pretty darn cool. Any pokemon that has the ability to draw a sword and use it, is always in my favourite books. Metis is related to Aegis in Greek myths, so they synergise well together.

(Just a note; not all the screenshots are going to be like this; some will be taken with my 3DS camera. I'll try my best to get the best quality possible when I can.)

 

 

 

Introducing Pokemon White 2!

White Kyurem sets the scene to a fantastic new entry to the pokemon series. I'll be nicknaming him 'Kyuram' for the sake of efficient writing. The music playing here is very similar to what plays when you start up the original Pokemon Black and White.

After a screen asking me (what I believe is) the japanese type setting, we are introduced by Professor Juniper in the traditional fair. And look! Her Minncino has evolved!

As the tradition has been going from Pokemon Crys|al (that word is cencored --) we get to select what gender our trainer is. As promised, I'm going for the female trainer this run.

 

I think everyone who wants to learn japanese should know what the two bottom lines are without breaking a sweat. "Are you a boy? Are you a girl?"

I've named her Aegis, as promised on first post. Aegis or 'Aigis' is a shield or armour in Greek Mythology. It's also the name to a robotic female android in Persona 3 who eventually gains human emotions and learns to 'love'. See what I mean about the japanese character limit? The name only just about fits. If I wanted to, I could have spelt all this names in japanese, but then that's not fun for the english people reading this.

Shortly after some last bits of dialouge we enter into the wonderful world of pokemon, Unova, Sangi town to be precise. The view is pretty spectacular.

After some camera panning, we get to see more lovely scenery. The music in this section really caught my ear as the green leaves **** across the world.

The collection of leaves eventually scatter and land, and who appears to be your mother in this game watches them gently fall to the ground in a beautiful sprite animation before recieving a note on her reader.

She talks to you about some things (not sure what) but I assume it's to meet with Bianca or do something or other related to gaining a pokemon partner. Saying anything but the top option causes her to jump back in suprise, before repeating the question again.

Now I can finally control my character, I saw this cute little decorations in the living room.

I meet up with Grail, the name for my Rival in White 2. He's travelling with a little girl. Not really sure what they're on about here, but Grail eventually decides to follow me. After a short way of exploring the town we find...

...none other than Bianca from Pokemon Black and White. She's grown up a fair bit since we've last seen her, and she seems to be helping out with Professor Juniper. Of couse, she'll be giving us our pokemon.

So we get a rather adorable 3D imagery of Bianca as she reveals to us three pokeballs. Snivy, Oshawott or Tepig? Who would you choose?

 

I of course, am going with Oshawott this run. So I quickly snag it up.

And luck strikes again so it seems. When naming Metis, I realise that this Oshawott is indeed a female! Considering I had a female Snivy when I played Pokemon Black, I thought I wouldn't get that sort of luck again. Anyway, Metis is a titan in greek mythology the counsels, gives advice and plans. She was the counsellor to Zeus and her daughter was Athena. In P3; Metis was the part of Aegis she had 'wished away'. She was carefree, happy go lucky and full of emotion.

It seems like Grail also wants a pokemon from Bianca, perhaps in an act of jealousy or impulse? If I saw someone handing out a live pokemon to a friend of mine, I'd definitely feel the same way. Not long after of course, Grail wants to battle me with his new pokemon.

Oshawott VS Snivy. Some lovely white exclusive interface that's looking pretty slick and sleek. Snivy, while initially faster could have easily bested me if he had stuck to tackle, but he decides to use leer twice allowing my sluggish oshawott to get some key hits in.

Playing the game right now on my DS and taking some more photos, but for the time being I've transcribed the details of my Oshawott:-

So the nature itself is pretty meh, but for storymode runs it's really not much of an issue.
