Will our purchased cards be carried over after update mods?

I haven't redeemed any codes for these virtual boosters, and I'm reluctant to invest 'real' money in this game unless I know for certain if the virtual cards I buy now will be carried over when this BIG update happens with the pvp. Can a moderator comment on this?

I'm going to hop right in and answer this question. Yes the cards now in your collection should carry over when PVP comes back online. Please take a moment to check out this page as this is no doubt a popular question:

There is one thing you must also note here and its about the Dark Explorers Booster Packs. I have copied this information from one of Prof Mathis's posts to help make things clear on dark explorers code redemptions:

 

Dark Explorers booster codes

 

You will be able to enter codes from Dark Explorers starting May 9th and earn booster credits as usual. These booster credits can be redeemed for any set, from HeartGold & SoulSilver to Black & White—Next Destinies. You will not be able to redeem booster credits for Dark Explorers until later this summer, when the new multiplayer build hits open beta.

 

Dark Explorers theme deck codes

 

You can redeem Dark Explorers theme deck codes, which will unlock those decks in the new Trainer Challenge. However, these cards will not show up in your collection until after the new version of the multiplayer game enters open beta later this summer.

If anything is being rotated out or in with the Pokémon TCG Online we will be sure to make an announcement so that our players are informed. To say that eventually sets won't be rotated out wouldn't be true however.

 

I think what your hearing at this time is exactly how you put it... a rumour

Where did you hear that these sets wont be available? If so, I dont want to redeem any codes for these expansions if I cant use them for pvp. Seems like it would be a waste. Is there any truth to this, or again, a rumor?

The press release, from pokemon, has rotation as being Black and White on for Modified Tournaments 2012-2013.

 

So here, when we have modified play, and they rotate to the 2012-2013 season we will only be able to use those cards.

 

They have said in the past that we will not lose our existing cards and that there will be other forms of tournements in the future. Thay may change but it's just more bits to store right now. I think they have hinted at older cards being brought back but getting the system up and usable is got to be the first priority.

 

Now that we have this anouncement can we get PvP with the new format ealier? Should be less work as the Junk Arm does not need to be fixed.

This is not a offical announcement for the online play though. So like others have said, all other info is just rumors ... at this time.

For modified play here the two are going to be insync. They may have other forms for play, but modified is modifed.
