What first started you playing Pokemon? I remember I used to watch the first seasons of Pokemon, but didn't play it untill my brother got one of the games, (I can't say which one here, so that should tell you) at which time he gave me his copy of Silver...

Well, my cousin actually got me into it, even though he doesn't play it anymore. I remember just randomly saying Articuno before even knowing it was a pokemon...Weird right?

For me it was always the chance to get a holographic [or shiny] Pokémon. I still remember opening my packs of Pokémon cards and being really excited about the shiny ones!

I was in first grade, and pokemon cards were banned at my school. I didn't know anything about pokemon, but it was considered "Cool" to have all the holographic ones. I got in trouble once, and was sent to the Vice Principle's office. Instead of punishing me, she liked me and thought I was a good kid. Then she gave me a stack of confiscated pokemon cards, and I started then. I played yellow version shortly after, and I didn't even know what pikachu was! I though it was like Legend of Zelda for a while, with monsters and towns. I couldn't read then either :P.

Oh, no! It's to horrible to say... I don't even remember how I got to know pokemon! It was so long ago... I think I first met them when I was about 4, but I didn't really get into them until a while later.

Wait, that's right! My babysitter from a long time ago had a son who played the TCG, and he let me borrow his cards so we could battle. After one round of (I think) allowing me to win, he gave me a few, and my measly collection grew from that. Soon after, I of course learned that there was a game, and just had to have it, when one of my mom's friends gave me the original blue version. Loving it dearly, it all followed up that. I kind of fell into the show later, from getting VHS tapes of the first season, and followed everything after that. And here I am at the site, which I learned about from club nintendo. And what a long way I've come! Funny how I still remember all of that...

Well I was either 3 or 4 years old. I watched one episode and I loved Pikachu. I remember Pokemon cards had just came out. My first Pack of Base Set, I obtained A shadowless foil 1st edition Charizard.

I started my collection from there. My first game was the Pokemon collessum or maybe it was the Pikachu talk game.

Ever since then Ive collected everygame except Black,

My Real Life collection is over 30,000 cards

Back when the anime was on WB 11 (NYC channel) at like 6 in the morning, a really good friend of mine said that if I liked Hello Kitty I would like this new show called Pokémon. So we all had to get up really early to watch it cause they weren't putting it on at 10 AM on Saturday which would become it's real time when it became really popular. This was September of 1998, I was 13 and in 8th grade. For Christmas I got Blue version and my first ever game boy color, we also started buying the cards (yes I had the base set Charizard, my sister pulled it) This was the start of the world wide crazy, we collected everything, including stuff from other countries, since we had friends that would travel and bring it back for us. Around 2005, I stopped watching it cause I really didn't like Max and May. But I never watched after that. When I moved out of my parents they threw out EVERYTHING. I literally have this stuff left: a stuffed Gengar, red version, a Brock action figure, the piano book, an original adventures manga, and a giant stuffed Pikachu that was my graduation present from highschool.

Now how did I get back into it? In November 2011, I had this idea for a Harry Potter fanfic (I know random but bear with me), I went to my old fanfiction sites to see if I could log in, AFF who is very nice and prompt when it comes to replies gave me access to my long forgotten acount so I wrote on there, then when I found that I could not continue the story and I had a bit of writers block I looked for challenges. Someone wanted a an ordinary story featuring Ash and Misty where Ash would have to get a job that was something unrelated to Pokémon, specifically a welder. Me being Spiral Breeze, and therefore out of mind took it to a whole new level, yet still abiding my the rules of the challenge.

While I was still diligently writing this story, my sister began to watch the Black and White episodes with my son, he got HOOKED! Big time, so we started buying cards again, and then in March I bought the game, and I've been slowly replacing my collection ever since. I even got my sister the White Bundle so I could use all the features of the game.

Now, initially I will be honest, hearing Sarah's voice instead of Veronica's on Ash was shocking, I did not like it. But then I realized, this poor gal had to deal with a lot of upset fans, and she's doing the best job she knows how. I also didn't like Iris, but I LOVE Cilan, something about him, he's just so awesome. The reality is I'm a much bigger fan of the anime than of the games and cards, but I'd say I play the games better than the cards... although back in the day there was WAY more strategy to the card game. Our games would last really long. Black version also seems way easier to play with all the advanced features.

Anyway, Pikachu will always be my favorite cartoon character, and Ash Ketchum will always have a special place in my heart (even though he's remained 10 years old, but that's what fanfiction is for right!?).
