Advice on Water/Psychic Deck

Though I'm not new to the world of card games, I'm relatively new to the Pokemon TCG. Therefore, I'm unaware of any meta or top tier decks this format. I've bought a box of Next Destinies, and after buying a few more cards off of Trollandtoad, I think I've put together a pretty decent deck. Though, since I am still a newbie to the game, I'd like some advice from more experienced players. Here is my current deck list:

x2 Vanniluxe (It's Slippery Soles ability is pretty useful, but I there are probably better replacements.)

 

x2 Empoleon (Diving Draw helps with draw power, as well as gets rid of filler cards in the hand. Again, probably some better cards out there, but hey, it's a personal preference )

 

x2 Chandelure (Psychic) (I've heard this is a pretty good card this format, and I can see why after reading what it can do!)

 

x2 Espeon (Probably going to replace this at some point, after realizing the negative effect its ability can have.)

 

x1Eevee

 

x2 Vanilluxe

 

x2 Vanillite

 

x2 Lampent

 

x2 Prinplup

 

x2 Litwick

 

x2 Piplup

 

x3 Minccino (Call for Family is a huge part of my current strategy. The Pokemon can last a few turns, and even if it only lasts one, I can get Mewtwo out in an instant.)

Any suggestions and constructive criticism will be much appreciated! For the record, after starting the game a month ago, I've found it very enjoyable and interesting. I'm a big fan of the game mechanics (As a Vanguard player, I can see where Bushiroad got many of the game's mechanics), and after recently quitting Yugioh after three years of playing, this game is much more refreshing, enjoyable, and a heck of a lot cheaper! XD

You should get more refreshing supporters like PONT, N and Juniper. If all cards play psychic and water the prisms wouldn't be needed. You may use elgyem (NV 55) instead of minccino. It gets you 2 basic pokemon into your bench instead of 1 for the same energies. It would be better to get an other eevee to get espeon faster. If you can get another mewtwo it will help you a lot more. Another DCE would help mewtwo more then. You are playing 2 stage 2 pokemon so you may want some rare candies (DE 100).

Thanks a bunch for the advice, I'll definitely work them into my deck. I'll probably be getting rid of Espeon/Eevee once I get better supporters, as well as change a few other things around.

 

 

 

I do have one question, though. If I run the Elgyems, should I run Beheeyem as well?

Not necessarily. You run minccino without running cinccino.

After doing a little more research, I realised that's more than fifty percent Pokemon not only isn't very fast, but it's just not that balanced what with all the strategies going on at once. I haven't actually tested this deck yet, but I do think it's an improvement in my opinion. Again, constructive criticism and advice will be much appreciatied!
