It's my personal opinion that this forum should be English-only. That's how most forums work. People typing in languages no one can understand should (and hopefully already is) be against the rules.

It especially poses a moderation issue and divides the community.

Edit: To reiterate, you can be any nationality from anywhere you want as long as you type in English.

No offense but' that, sir, is racist. People from other countries have just as much right to type in their first languages as we do. Pokemon is a global thing, and everyone has a right to enjoy it.

You pretty much re pe a t ed w h a t was said to you earlier, but...

It's not racist. I don't think you kn o w w h a t that word means. Plenty of people, like, for example, Barmaid Cariba, are from different non-English countries yet write in English just fine.

It's how forums work. For example, and I know I keep bringing this up, t h e official Nintendo NSider Forums had an English-only policy. TPCi is centered in America, and logically its employees are... American with their main language being English. If they are to properly moderate the forum, the posters need to post in English. You wouldn't want nasty foreign things being posted, would you?

Edit: Censorship fix.

Edit 2: By nasty foreign things, I mean stuff that is against the ToS like illegal activity, harassment, etc. etc.

Good point. I could see why they would do that, otherwise the censor would have to be updated for profanity in every tongue except American Sign Language! Sorry for making false accusations. Couldn't that be considered racist, though? I mean, from my perspective, it looked like you wished to exclude people that spoke any language other than English. Thanks again for clearing that up.

Well that's still not racist. >.>;

For example: There are plenty of white people. White = Race. Yet n o t a l l white people are native English-speakers (See: Non-UK Europe).

I only want to exclude people who are incapable of typing the common and moderated language. Even if TPCi got foreign moderators, for example, there would still be a large problem of community building. The community would be split between different languages, instead of unified under fandom of Pokémon. That's an extremely bad thing, self-segregation, for any community. Agreed?

Edit: Pro-tip: Use the word 'yet' instead of the word that is three letters long, begins with a 'b', has a 'u' and ends in 't'. Stupid censor.

Ohhh... I see now! Leave it to my "bulletproof source" to help clear things up! And, after reading that, I've started to realize that I'm sort of like that, too. I've always preferred the Metric system...

Hey everybody!

Actually most forums have separate language sections so that users from all over the world can share their game experiences. Forums are new to Pokemon.com so we're still working out how everything should be organized. There's only one site for everyone to play the TCGO, so we shouldn't exclude anyone of any race or language <img src="http://www.pokemontcg.com/javascripts/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/png/regular_smile.png" alt="" /> Pokemon is a global brand and so we ask everyone to please be respectful of our community's diversity.
