Why do you all concede or disconnect right before I can take my win?

The title sais it all. I want to know what is so bad about letting your opponent's win counter go up. Honestly, there is no good reason to not let your opponent finish a game, especialy while they're taking their last Prize. I personaly find this to be rude. (I'm not trying to be mean and I'm not mad, just curious) (a note to the Mods: I am not trying to call anyone out, I just want an answer as to why people do this.)

It still counts as a win either way, if they disconnect you win if they dont come back after 90 seconds. Also if they decide there is nothing they can do people will concede, either way they both count towards your win total. So I dont know what your issue actually is?

My issue that people do not want to carry out a full fledged game, I always play to the last second. I honestly don't know why I put the thing about wins though, I kinda had a brain fart when I typed that.

Now, I have another question: Why do you concede or disconnect when I start to win or get set up?

EDIT: Please answer both questions if you can, everyone.

I dont know what sort of cards you have, but the new players only have standard decks that they got by going through the trainer challenge and when they see a Mewtwo or those standards of cards, they dont believe they have the slightest chance (Which in some cases is true).

Now the problem is, is that they go into Expert games (This I do not understand myself) and come across good decks, they see them and think I dont have a chance, I will just concede and find a opponent with the same standard of cards as myself, therefore they are getting a fair chance of winnning.

As for conceding when you have nearly won, thats just part of the game, it doesnt just happen online, it can be done in RL too. I also will concede if I know that I dont have a chance to win and next turn my opponent can 100% win, there is just no point, its just wasting both peoples time.

Hope you understand all that (Im Dyslexic, I have many brain farts too :D)

Alright heres your answers-point blank with both barrels.

1 its not all about you.2-When people concede when setting up its because most of the time its because people are doing a vs battle and miss timed their count down.So they quit so they can go back and find the person they were trying to battle in the first place.Till they get their timing correct.3- if ur running the same old deck like durant-cobalion combo and a bunch of ex cards they dont want to face the same old decks.

I personally keep changing my decks to improve or just because im bored running the same old deck.Reguardless of how well calibrated it is or how well it does to beat others. With the same old site and the same old buggs it gets boring reall fast. Those are the reasons.

Also all true, just more reasons why people do what you are stating.

I did not mean in any way to imply that it's all about me.

I understand the thing about wanting to face the right person, that's acceptable. I just wish people would tell me first in chat. (not that they can right now because it's broken, but I think I got my point across)

I understand facing these overpowered cards can be frusterating, belive me, I know. I remember back when I didn't have many cards in real life or online, I didn't win alot of games and my decks sucked, but did I give up? No. My urge to play and have fun with the game is what kept me going, and I went until I got better at the game, got better cards, and I was finnaly winning some games. So to those people out there who don't have alot of cards, keep trying, keep playing you will get better at the game eventually.

Just one more thing. For food for your thought-start reading some of the other forums so you know whats happenning around here.Or start asking questions in the main lobby or in the side chat rooms, like trade ect. This way you can stay up to date on whats going on.

I've been here since March 24th, 2011. I know all the major bugs and most minor bugs. The only bugged card in my deck is Zekrom EX, and the bug is that you can't discard Double Colorless Energy with Strong Volt, I don't see how that makes people concede/disconnect. I know bugs make it boring sometimes, and I can understand conceding due to some bugs, but not all of them.

I check stuff like bugs and updates all the time, I don't see how I'm behind on news.

There is no excuse for disconnecting. That is just being childish. If you no longer want to play then conceded.

I will conceded in the face of a lose occasionally as:

1) The other player had been slow and I do not want to wait for them to do their thing,

2) I have other things to do and it is just faster sometime.

3) I am frustrated and want too.

So a win is a win. I would rather have someone conceded then disconnect. Just playing the game out just because had little value to me if the outcome is clear.

Let me start by saying that there's a difference between conceding and disconnecting. Conceding is where you forfeit the game, perhaps because you already know you're going to lose. If you're in a spot where you know you're not going to win, it makes perfect sense to end the game immediately. Your opponent's still going to win the match, but you don't need to bear the pressure any more than you already have.

Now, there are two possible reasons an opponent might disconnect. These are the reasons:

1) The person simply doesn't want to admit defeat so instead runs away. This is the more childish reason, and perhaps the more common scenario. Just wait for 90 seconds, and if they don't reappear, you win.

2) Believe it or not, it's possible for a person's connection to crash unintentionally. I wouldn't be surprised if many people have experienced this scenario (I have). This could be quite possibly be because TCGO is a Flash program, and any time a Flash plugin acts up, the connection always gets lost.

I agree with larry on the flash part.Ive had situations where if the game drags for too long and my computer starts slowing down that it will actually kick out of the game im in or what ever else im doing. That and if as i said earlier that 2 people are trying to battle and end up with someone else. And as well cant talk to anyone due to chat session being down. Now i just got here, they might have fixed that-i dont know yet either way.But since there is no easy answer for the one questioning this reason im going to say this yet again. To each his own.People do what they do for their own reasons like it or not. There is nothing you or i can do about it.The final decision comes down to them and the moderaters! And thats the bottom line to the problem.Theirs nothing else that can really be done about it.So the best best we can do is get over it and move on.

Thanks for helping me, everyone. I can tolerate conceding most of the time. But I just get irritated at people disconnecting when they start to lose or I lay down an EX or something like that.
