Yes, you can play up to 4 copies of any Tag Team card. If a card is restricted (like Prism Star, or Ace Spec cards), it will tell you on the card.

That's just bad luck. The AI is quite bad, and usually it WILL do something like "keep looking at its deck" for several turns in a row.

Just to be clear, as @SandaledOtter explained, "Tokens" are an in-game currency that has almost nothing to do with real-world money. You earn it through playing the PTCGO, you actually can't avoid earning it unless you stop signing into the game. XD I used to play the physical card game, but since I cannot attend League or tournaments, I shifted to PTCGO-only. Should you decide to pursue the PTCGO more, let us know and we can give you some solid advice on getting started. Beyond "Buy a recent Theme Deck from the in-game shop using the in-game currency you earn from logging in and just playing the game." Even that could be more specific, but I don't want to overwhelm you by explaining the metagame (competitive card pool) of the various Formats (real or PTCGO-exclusive). When you're ready for it, though, it can be explained. :) Oh, and one more thing: if you were unaware, the next set releases February 7th. Not only is it a new set, but a new Pokémon generation. Just as there are the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield video games, soon there will be a Sword & Shield TCG expansion, with a bunch of follow-up sets after it. Relevant to what we've been discussing is that each new, mainstream set brings with it more Theme Decks. Sometimes, the newest Theme Decks aren't that great, but usually, they're as good or a little better than what came before. So, if you aren't in a hurry and/or you aren't going to be playing enough to have another 500 Tokens ready by then, you might want to wait to buy a Theme Deck until February 7th, preferably after asking around to see which of the three new Sword & Shield Theme Decks are worth it (if any). If none of them are worth it, you can still ask about what the best Theme Deck is, whether for playing against other Theme Decks on the PTCGO or getting your start with the physical TCG.

Nothing you buy in the in-game shop will cost real world money, and the coins you use to buy them also can't be gotten for real money. The coins are rewards for: logging in each day beating trainers in the trainer challenge beating players on the vs. ladder just getting points on that ladder other things So you just save up 500 of them, then buy one of the newest theme decks. Avoid the old ones for now.
  7. 1 point
any theme deck in game shop purchase will automatically show as available for trainers challenge. also if you redeem a real life code of a theme. tin decks are not considered theme.

Without looking at what every pokémon does, I have to say this are not good decks. All the 1-off pokémon and single evolution lines are the opposite to strategy and consistency, and you run way far too much energy (probably because so many different types?). A couple different types and Colourless if you desire, is recommended. 14/32/14 (Pok/Trainers/N'rgies) is how the counts should look to have a more competitive structure. Of course some decks play less pokémon, up to 36 trainers, and some only 4 (special) energies so there's room to have more of the rest of things. Thick evo lines 3-3 or 3-1-3 with Rare candies, is the competitive way to build. The good deck would be the 17 energies', and yet are too much. Cheren is one of the worst trainers of the game, switch'em for Professor letters. Ether are ultrahard to snipe and doesn't worth unless you have an engine like Mallow or Magcargo or CEC Seismitoad. Max elixir is way better, although only works for basics. If you have 2 Vs seeker, there's no reason to not be both added to every deck. Two or three stadiums would be the best. If you can get any good idea from what I said, hope you enjoy yet more your decks 👌

Hey Moderator, You can close this issue I could not replicate this maybe I was somehow tricked and got attacked. This is the Game Log:

I just played a match where the player had an Gardavor EX as an active pokemon And they Mega Evolved it. According to what it says, Mega evolutions end the turn BUT THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN. instead, they attacked and i lost a pokemon when i shouldn't have. They used an EvoSoda for the Evolution so, i don't think that should matter.

Files cannot be attached here. The text should be attached in a Spoiler, which is the 👁️ symbol in the editor. The one above contains just the lines where your Psychic Pokemon did damage, which happens to be exactly 500 HP. It is preferred that for this forum, you post all the numbered lines, and remove the part after the line "Game Log Output Ends Here." Just to be sure, on the left side of each challenge, you should see three symbols something like these: ⭐ This is the Trainer Challenge ⚡ This is the Vs. ladder 🏆 This is the Event tournaments. They indicate what part of the game the challenge can be completed in. A white symbol means the challenge is valid in that part. If the symbol is dark, you can't do the challenge there.

While I certainly don't agree with a lot of decisions regarding the direction of the game (both in terms of general TCG, as well as TCGO), one can't deny that TPCI is still making profit and from a neutral perspective that is all that matters in the end. I also wonder when you / your opinions become “the TCG community”, because quite frankly the negative voices seem to be in the minority (yet, as usual those are the voices that cry out the loudest, because if you don't have anything to complain about you stay silent and enjoy the game). Lastly, I do believe that TPCI should invest more to make the game more acceptable to new players, without derailing from their business model. With that being said, the game is pretty balanced on a competitive level. In fact I think since the latest expansion we've seen more decks / archetype variants making it into top 8/16 then we did during the entire S&M era (just a gut feeling of mine).

Fast thought: Would be possible Mew3 used an attack which ignores the effects of abilities, like copying Keldeo's attack: 'This attack's damage isn't affected by any effects on your opponent's Active Pokémon', hence hit A Persian?
  15. 1 point
Reading around, seems Stealthy hood can prevent abilities done to you (like Lycanroc GX I said, probably) but doesn't disable the abilities of opponent's pokémon? So yet would protect Keldeo and A Ninetales, hence should protect also A Persian and would be a bug. So is there to prevent the abilities but doesn't because opponent keep the ability. And if the ability is prevent your damage, Stealthy hood don't make anything because is preventing the effect of the ability (which would be you do damage) but it's not preventing the ability itself. Ridiculous. It's second day in a row I find myself discouraged about wording. 😶
  16. 1 point
You can yet attack with a GX to a Keldeo GX, but you do no damage. If a GX with a Stealthy hood attacks to Keldeo GX, Stealthy hood prevents the effect of the ability, which is preventing abilities and damage, so you are avoiding they getting no damage, so you'd hit for damage. I thought that was the reason people plays Stealthy hood in Mew3, to be able to beat ADP/Keldeo. Maybe not. Will wait for someone that has used Stealthy hood anytime and can say better. To me, not only A Persian should be hitted, also Keldeo and A Ninetales. I'll try in game 😆 BTW, who hit your A Persian? Sure was a TT, UB or had a Special energy but, just in case. A Log would become very handy, keep it if it happens again.
  17. 1 point
I don't think this is how stealthy hood works it says prevent all the effects of your opponent's ability done to this pokemon which means that it can prevent damage or effects done via ability not remove the ability to defend themselves. That is not the issue. The Issue is why does it work on alolan persian-GX and not alolan Ninetales or Keldeo-GX.
  18. 1 point
Stealthy hood: Prevent all effects of your opponent's Abilities done to the Pokémon this card is attached to. Remove any such existing effects. This means, the pokémon wearing the Stealthy hood is not affected by the opponent's abilities. So a GX or EX wearing Stealthy hood should damage Keldeo GX and should damage Alolan Ninetales. Also an Ultrabeast, TT or with a Special energy pokémon, wearing Stealthy hood can damage A Persian GX; and a benched pokémon with Stealthy hood wouldn't be affected by Lycanroc GX (GUR 74) to move from bench to active, and... GX/EX with Stealthy hood don't damage Keldeo or A Ninetales?

If there's something negating abilities, counts as there's no abilities on the field. Wording, they really could do a lot better. All of us have that kind of doubts often.
  21. 1 point
Ok, I didn't know that. I thought Green couldn't be played with abilities on the field, no matter if works or not. Thank you for your clarification!
  22. 1 point
Ultra Necrozma is a basic and Silent lab shuts down basics abilities. Therefore Green's can be played.

Good point, it actually might have been plasma Lugia EX.
  24. 1 point
Please don't look at the "leaderboard." It is known to be broken, with names often missing, and for the people it works for, it only tracks points gained for wins and KOs, without paying any attention to losses, so it only tracks who plays the most, not the best.
  25. 1 point
They removed it because it wasn't easily maintained, and so was always wrong about something.
  26. 1 point
Could be Lugia EX in front? Plasma Lugia EX is very common in Legacy. PRomo BW83, PLS 108 and 134 and LTr 102, being all of them the same card. Is not the same GX and EX.
  27. 1 point
None of that relates to the removal of the Fairy type. Legal cards remain legal until they rotate out.

When you buy new physical product (booster packs, theme decks, gift sets, tins, etc.) you get a Redemption Code card for it in the PTCGO. Things that are set, like the contents of a theme deck, the non-random cards in a gift set or tin, etc. you receive from using that Redemption Code card in the PTCGO. Booster packs are just going to follow the guidelines for that set, but are otherwise random. So the contents of your booster pack in the PTCGO may be totally different than those of the real-world pack from which its Redemption Code came. The big thing is that products received via these codes can be traded in the PTCGO. So yes, if you spend money on real-world products, it will make it easier to acquire the cards you want, one way or another. You can also look for those selling or trading their Redemption Code cards, but make sure they're trustworthy; Nintendo/TPCi/etc. aren't responsible if someone scams you and sells you a fake or already used Redemption Code card. If you're asking whether free-to-players can keep up with paying players, the short answer is yes. The long answer is "Yes, but you'll need to learn how to trade well, and invest a lot of time trading and grinding for in-game rewards." Still, this means someone like me can get busy for months at a time, then just come back to this game, knuckle down and grind for rewards, and get at least most of the cards we need. The exceptions are sometimes stupidly rare cards, like a promo known as Tropical Beach (it is even harder to obtain IRL XD).
  31. 1 point
Trying to allow myself time to grind for Tokens, maybe the odd Tournament to get a few more booster packs for trading fodder, though odds are good folks will mostly want the latest pack by that point... which won't be anything I can win right now. XD Shouldn't matter. The TCG Fairy Type is going to no longer be its own, separate Type, but moved into the TCG Psychic Type. VG Poison Types are being moved out of the TCG Psychic Type and into the TCG Darkness Type. This affects nothing in older booster packs, if that is what you were getting at: they'll still contain the exact same cards. What will matter is that trading "prices" are going to be in a near constant state of flux for a while. I mean, it has already started, because a lot of players look at what releases in Japan and make plans for the TCG in the rest of the world based on that. If any of the boosters you're planning on opening are tradeable, you'll have to decide whether it is better to start working on trading their contents now, or whether it is better to keep them intact and just trade them for the new cards, even if their value may not be as high. I'd favor doing the latter. If the packs in question are tradelocked, meaning all you can do is open them or keep them forever in your collection as booster packs, then yeah, go ahead and open them up! XD

You need to send a ticket to support. Maybe answering other different questions about the account (e-mail, Country, date of creation... I don't know) they could make that reset for you. Don't share personal info here in forums, name of your account (that should be different than screen name, and as secret as possible) is another security filter. Support: Is the link you can read in color support portal in any Mod's signature. In case you have signatures disabled you can check the forum settings in profile to enable the option. Here's the url either way: English: https://support.pokemon.com/hc/en-us/ Spanish https://support.pokemon.com/hc/es You see only changes the ending and there are other several languages available (FR, IT, DE...). By default I think it drives you to the browser/computer language as long as it's an available language. If not, the default should be English.

I'd buy some Theme to make a wide pool of cards where to choose from. The most played and probably harder to beat right now is Towering heights. Blazing volcano is also a very good Theme, but needs a bit of skills to manage. Unseen depths used to be good as a counter, but even not seeing as many fire as before, I got an 8 wins streak some days ago for a daily challenge (and then jumped to standard). So can be yet nice. Of course if you are starting the game, opponents doesn't have competitive Standard decks yet, same like you I imagine. Trying some "mash decks" in standard can work if you have a couple of GX (or even EX) of same types and you add some support. But starting in Expanded is a lot better as you start the game with a lot more Expanded staple trainers in collection than Standard ones. The idea of buying a wide variety of Themes is mainly because of the trainers they contain. You can check next thread for more info about what's contained in some Theme and a little building decks info: https://forums.pokemontcg.com/topic/73926-new-player-fine-tuning-an-expanded-deck/?tab=comments#comment-634816 Checking the whole thread could be interesting (is not very long) 😊

I wanted to do 10 evolutions for the daily challange in under 3 minutes and then quit. My opponent decided that he wants to stall instead with his Mew Mew TAG TEAM deck. I had no way to tell him what my intentions are because of the chat. Then he wasted 25 minutes and lost the game. I had no energy in my deck and I used only Alolan Vulpix´s attack to find basic Pokémon. The lesson of the day - when you see an evolution challange deck, let them quit fast and enjoy a free victory 😅
  36. 1 point
No, it just means I enjoy the challenge of facing that potential scenario. It can't be always easy for you to win isn't it? With N already available, reset stamp is no different. Just an itemized version of it. How we deal with N will be no different on how we deal with reset stamp.

The game visual is outdated Removing the trainee store Removing Fairy type What's next? Removing the full arts? Demanding money to enter tournaments? I don't know but the game should be better with time, not worse. Sadly the Pokemon Company doesn't give a **** about the PTCGO, all the suggestions and complains gets the same response * passing your suggestion to the development team* and NOTHING changes. I'm playing GWENT and it's much better, They're adding more things with time and not removing. But that's my opinion, Don't even bother repliyng, i already know how it will be. *Thank you for your feedback etc et etc...*

Card errata, rule changes, and more are coming with the introduction of the new Pokémon TCG: Sword & Shield Series. The introduction of a new series to the Pokémon Trading Card Game is always an exciting time, and the Sword & Shield Series is no exception. Pokémon V and Pokémon VMAX are here to shake up the game, and lots of brand-new Pokémon are making their debut in the Pokémon TCG. Additionally, there are some changes to existing rules and mechanics on the way. Check out this news article for more information about these changes! These changes will be effective in the game client with the release of the version 2.69.0 update, scheduled for February 4, rather than the February 21 effective date for physical play.

Upcoming Sword and Shield TCG Card Balance issues Honest positive & negative feedback is welcome The Pokemon TCGO staff are just doing good job on keeping game alive ********** we get some constant features update like it did in 2009~2014) and they just there follow what Pokemon TCG Card Makers and Rule Makers do. The main concern are the Pokemon TCG Card Makers staffs and TCG Rule Makers. The TCG Community voice the suggestion to tone down by balancing the card game, but it was ignored or person/user was restricted. Their goal to add these restrictions was to boost their own business coming from new cards like Uber-fast like acceleration strategy.High Damage/High HP VMAX and GX not to balance cards for the community resulting in loss of keeping high population playing in Pokemon TCG and TCG Online. This would of been simply prevented if they balance out. Now they distant them self away from the show/video game by removing fairy type. You must be nuts to support their direction of TCG Business future rather the keeping the community game play balance. The word i am looking at this TCG Card Makers/Rule Makers direction is "Very Absurd" in all ways
