Good evening fellow creatures that live on this planet we call "Earth",

I want to know if this would be a good idea to add to the official rules of the TCG or not, so please let me know. (Thanks in advance!)

Should GXs be considered as EXs? (GX pokemon would just be EX pokemon with a GX move)

The reason why I ask this is because I want to see older cards become viable in Expanded.  Take (BREAKthrough) Raichu for example; using Thunderclap Shot to deal fifty damage to all of your opponents EXs and GXs would be very swell!

There is probably some sort of game-breaking mechanic that I glanced over that would make this a terrible idea.

Thanks for reading this small tangent, have a good day!

i remember reading an article during a japanese release event (around sept 2016) when a member of pokemon labs was asked a similar question and they responded that in the future a stadium or supporter could come out that would treat all ex as gx and all gx as ex. this was so things like hoopa ex can pull up gx as well. But as we all know, pokemon moves forward and not backwards and these will never come out now.

I dont think by any chance they will implement that.

Because thats part of their marketing strategy.

If you notice, the GX is rather quite similar with the earliest EX when first released.
