Best way to purchase older card sets

Hi Fellow Pokemaniacs,

I've been away from the Pokemon TCG scene for... like 18 years. I've recently started back up and have obviously missed a ton of card sets. Everywhere online has old packs for a ton of money (old = pre-XY for me).

Are there any major retailers or regional retailers which sell them for fairly cheap? Is my best luck trolling around my local card shops?

Greetings. If you’re looking for cards from older sets, I’ll recommend that you buy them individually instead of opening packs to get them. It’ll be a lot more cost-efficient, and you get to select the blisters/promos if there are any.

Older packs will also be harder to locate, a lot of people prefer to sell cards individually.
